A method for assembling a gas sensor includes fitting through holes of annular mounting parts with an element dummy disposed vertically and whose cross-sectional shape perpendicular is similar to that of a sensor element. The annular mounting parts are a plurality of parts including a ceramic powder compact. A tubular body is fitted with outer peripheries of the annular mounting parts, and then, the element is abuttingly disposed on an upper end of the dummy. Subsequently, the dummy is moved vertically downward to fit the through holes of the annular mounting parts with the element, thereby obtaining a workpiece. The workpiece is vertically inverted, and with the element tip being in contact with a sealing assist jig that has a buffer performance, the upper end of the uppermost annular mounting part is pressed vertically downward to compress the powder compact, thereby sealing an inside of the tubular body.

Provided is a method for marking on a pressed metallic component whose visibility and corrosion resistance in a marking target is ensured. The method includes a step of irradiating a base treatment target region including a marking target region with a laser beam on a first irradiation condition, and a step of irradiating the marking target region with the laser beam on a second irradiation condition, in which a charged energy of the laser beam is set to be smaller on the first irradiation condition than the second irradiation condition, thereby providing between the marking pattern and a non-irradiation region, a base region having a residual stress greater than that of the non-irradiation region and a residual stress smaller than that of the marking pattern, so as to ensure a visibility. Furthermore, a corrosion resistance is ensured by using a metallic member which is heat-treated to enhance the hardness.

Provided are a method of reliably assembling a gas sensor. A plurality of annular mounting members are repeatedly subjected to following steps: bringing a sensor element into an upper-side held state in which the element is held such that an upper end thereof extends vertically with a lower end thereof being inserted into a recess; fitting a through hole of an annular mounting member with the upper end of the element brought in to the upper-side clamped state; and switching from the upper-side held state to a lower-side held state in which the element is held such that the lower end thereof extends vertically, to thereby cause the annular mounting member to reach a predetermined annularly mounting position.
