To simultaneously improve battery capacity and protect a battery during a lateral collision without causing a weight increase, a cost increase, and the like, an electric vehicle includes a battery system arranged below a floor panel and arranged between a tunnel side frame and a floor side frame; and an attachment bracket connecting the battery system to the tunnel side frame and the floor side frame.

Lower structure of electric vehicle

An electric vehicle includes a floor panel formed with a floor tunnel; a transmission; a transmission support member; an inverter attached to a case of the transmission; a battery unit disposed behind the transmission and on an outer side in a vehicle width direction of the floor tunnel; and a harness disposed such that an intermediate portion between a first end portion connected to the inverter and a second end portion connected to a front end portion of the battery unitextends across the floor tunnel from inside to outside thereof. The battery unit has a substantially rectangular shape in a bottom view, and a corner on the floor tunnel side of a front end portion of the battery unit is cut out to form a free space between the front end portion of the battery unit and a portion of the floor tunnel behind the transmission support member.

The present invention is a battery mounting device which comprises a battery mounted in a cabin of a vehicle, a plate-shaped toe board provided in front of a passenger seat at a position located at a lower level than the passenger seat so as to cover the battery, wherein the battery is provided between the toe board and a floor panel of the vehicle.

Battery mounting device

An automotive engine is provided with a fuel control system having a fuel injector for injecting a properly controlled quantity of fuel into cylinders of the automobile engine. The control system is adapted to cause the fuel injector to inject an increased quantity of fuel when an engine control value, relative to which the automotive engine changes its speed of rotation for a decision as to whether the automotive engine is in an acceleration state, is higher than a critical level. The control system also detects the transmission coupled to the automobile engine, and changes, when a temperature of the automotive engine is lower than a preselected temperature, the critical level according to the type of transmission detected.

An intake system for an automobile engine with a manual transmission or an automatic transmission has a throttle valve disposed in an intake passage for distributing air into cylinders of the engine. A supplementary air distributor provided in association with the intake passage supplementarily distributes air into the intake passage between the throttle valve and engine. The supplementary air distributor is controlled by a controller to distribute different amount of supplementary air according to engine operating conditions. The controller is correctively controlled to vary the amount of supplementary air, by the supplementary air distributor according to atmospheric pressure for every distribution, so as to distribute a larger amount of supplementary air do an automobile engine with an automatic transmission than do an automobile engine with a manual transmission at the same atmospheric pressure.

Intake system for automobile engine

A fuel injection control system is designed to be commonly available to an engine with a manual transmission and an engine with an automatic transmission. The internal combustion engine has a fuel injection device for delivering different amounts of fuel to the engine according to engine operating conditions. The fuel injection control system causes the fuel injection device to make an increase in fuel amount when the engine operates in a specific zone of engine operating conditions defined by engine operating speeds and loads. When the engine operating condition remains in the specific zone, the control system makes the increase in fuel amount with a time delay from a time the engine operating condition changes into the specific zone. The specific zone, when the engine is equipped with an automatic transmission, is expanded toward a side of engine speeds higher than an engine speed by which an upper extreme engine speed of the specific zone is defined that when the engine operates in the expanded part of the specific range and at high elevations, the system intentionally causes an increase in fuel.

Fuel injection control system for automotive engine

A control system for controlling spark timing of the engine is to control the retarding of the spark timing at the time of accelerating in anticipation. The amount of retarding the spark timing at the time of accelerating is set larger when the torque converter is provided in a driving system of the engine than when no torque converter is provided. A preferred feature is such that the amount of retarding the spark timing at the time of accelerating is set so as to be decreased gradually from its given initial value and that the retarding of the spark timing is suspended when the retarding amount reaches a value smaller than a given reset value. Both the initial value and the reset value are set to be greater when the torque converter is equipped than those when no torque converter is equipped.
