A heat dissipation device includes: a plurality of heat receiving members disposed on a plurality of electronic components mounted on a substrate; a plurality of heat pipes fixed to the respective heat receiving members; and a heat sink mounted on the substrate and includes a plurality of openings formed corresponding to the heat pipes, wherein the heat pipes are inserted in the respective openings, and an inner diameter of the openings in a perpendicular direction to a surface of the substrate is larger than a diameter of the heat pipes in the perpendicular direction to the surface of the substrate.

A plug-in unit includes: a printed circuit board on which a connector is mounted; and a cover in which the printed circuit board is accommodated; wherein the cover allows the connector to be exposed when the plug-in unit is inserted into a housing and to be covered when the plug-in unit is in a standalone state in which the plug-in unit is not inserted into the housing.

A cooling device able to blow cooling air in a larger amount than a conventional amount and in addition selectively with respect to a specific cooled element even in a case where an area of an intake port which can be secured in a front surface of a case to be cooled inside is restricted small. This cooling device is constituted by an air duct spread in a bag shape from the intake port into the case. At least a group of small openings oriented to the cooled element is provided in a wall of this air duct. Then, cooling air is blown from this group of small openings for the cooling.

In a holder and a structure for organizing excess length by winding cables and the like, an excess length organizing holder comprises a baseboard which has a rotation axis vertical to a fixed plane, and a spool which has a flange whose edge is provided with two incisions and a winding portion. The spool is rotated around the rotation axis in a state where a cable is folded by way of the winding portion and the two incisions, thereby winding the cable twofold around the winding portion. Also, an excess length organizing structure comprises a door detachable from a box-shaped rack, a mounting hardware connecting the door to the rack and pivoting on one side so as to make the door openable and closable, and at least one excess length organizing holder mentioned above whose baseboard is attached on a surface of the door when the door is attached to the mounting hardware.

An optical unit includes photoelectric conversion modules, a plurality of adapter support members whose upper parts are rotatably supported, and a plurality of optical connector adapters attached to lower ends of the adapter support members so as to be arranged next to each other, the optical connector adapters being contained in the optical unit. The adapter support members are rotated separately so that the optical connector adapters are extracted outside from the optical unit with a space formed between each adjacent two of said optical connector adapters. Each of the optical connector adapters has insertion holes to which optical connectors of optical fibers extending from the photoelectric conversion modules and optical connectors of external optical fibers are connected.

Optical unit with increased reliability

A heterogeneous functions-integrated communication device which is improved in the efficiency of optical connector connection/disconnection work and which enables non-redundant arrangement without the need to increase the size of the device. Those DS3 interface connectors of a customer interface section which are required only in the non-redundant arrangement are mounted on an expansion shelf, whereby the size of a shelf body is reduced and, in the case of redundant arrangement, the expansion shelf may be detached. Optical fibers can be introduced at a front side of the device from obliquely below to plug-in units, so that the optical fibers can be connected/disconnected without the need to pull out the plug-in units. Also, fiber trays are arranged at center and bottom levels, respectively, with respect to the height of the shelf body, and an upper part of each fiber tray is made smaller in width than a lower part thereof to thereby define a longitudinal opening, so that the optical fibers extending from the plug-in units can be introduced into the respective fiber trays through the openings.

Heterogeneous functions-integrated communication device

An optical telecommunication apparatus includes a shelf, a primary substrate provided in the shelf, a secondary substrate provided on the primary substrate, an optical component provided on the secondary substrate, and an optical connector provided on the secondary substrate for connection with an external optical cable, wherein the secondary substrate is pivoted on the primary substrate about a pivot axis so as to be movable about the pivot axis between a first position in which the secondary substrate is inside said shelf and a second position in which the secondary substrate projects outside of the shelf. The secondary substrate is in electrical connection with the primary substrate while in any position between the first and second positions.
