A laminate () is prepared by superposing a fibrous web (), () containing fibers comprising polyethylene terephthalate on one side or both sides of a net-form sheet (); water needling the fibrous web (), () to entangle the fibers of the fibrous web (), () with each other, and also to entangle the fibers of the fibrous web (), () with the net-form sheet (); and then, blowing hot air having a temperature above the glass transition temperature (Tg (&#xb0; C.)) of the polyethylene terephthalate and below 'Tg (&#xb0; C.)+70&#xb0; C.' to the laminate () by through-air technique. Preferably, after preparing the laminate () by entangling the fibers of the fibrous web(s) (), () with the net-form sheet (), the laminate () is dried with hot air; and then hot air is blown to the laminate () by through-air technique.

Process for producing cleaning sheet

A bulky sheet comprising a fiber aggregate formed by water needling of a fiber web is disclosed. The bulky sheet has a number of projections and depressions comprising the fiber aggregate. The projections and the depressions is formed both by rearrangement of the constituting fibers of the fiber aggregate by water needling of the fiber aggregate and by the multiple bending manner of the fiber aggregate along the thickness direction thereof. The projections and the depressions retains the shape thereof by themselves.

Bulky sheet and process for producing the same

A cleaning article comprising a detergent-retaining layer containing a hydrophobic material and detergent gradual-releasing layers having a higher density than the detergent-retaining layer, and the detergent-retaining layer is sandwiched between the detergent gradual-releasing layers.
