A mold-removal hole () formed upon forming a locking portion () and communicating with a tab insertion hole () is formed before a locking portion () by partly cutting a wall of the tab insertion hole (). As this mold-removal hole () is formed, preventing portions () for preventing a displacement of the tab () inserted into the tab insertion hole () toward the mold-removal hole () are formed on the wall of the tab insertion hole () at the lateral sides of the mold-removal hole () and at the opposite widthwise outer sides of the locking portion (). By displacing the position of the locking portion () toward one widthwise side from the center of the cavity (), the preventing portion () provided at the other side is set to have an increased area of engagement with the tab ().

Connector and method of molding a connector

The invention improves the assembly operation of a connector provided with a detecting member. A female housing is provided with a locking arm capable of engaging with a locking protrusion of a male housing A detecting member capable of moving in an anterior-posterior direction is attached to an upper face of this locking arm The detecting member has an operating member joined to a posterior end of a main body by a hinge A finger engages from the posterior with the operating member to push in the detecting member this detecting member being pushed in its direction of fitting in an inclined downwards direction. When the detecting member is in a waiting position, the operating member thereof is located above a posterior portion of the upper face of the locking arm . This posterior portion of the upper face of the locking arm has a guiding inclined face formed thereon, this guiding inclined face being inclined downwards in the pushing-in direction. When the detecting member is being moved from the waiting position to a detecting position, the operating member slides along the guiding inclined face this smoothly guiding the movement thereof.

Electrical connector with fitting detecting function

Disclosed is a connector having a terminal which is rendered into an electrically connectable state with a counterpart terminal by engaging with the counterpart terminal; a housing for accommodating the terminal therein; and an arc suppressive member which is provided at such a position as to be electrically connectable to the terminal and rendered into contact with the counterpart terminal when the terminal is being disengaged from the counterpart terminal so as to keep on electrically connecting the terminal and the counterpart terminal. The arc suppressive member has such a construction that an amount of discharged arc when the arc suppressive member is detached from the counterpart terminal is smaller than an amount of discharged arc when the terminal is disengaged from the counterpart terminal. With this arrangement, arc discharge at the disengagement of the terminals is suppressed.

A lock arm ( ) and two preventive walls ( ) are provided on the upper face of the female housing ( ), and a detecting member ( ) is mounted between both preventing walls ( ) from the back. Two engaging arms ( ) are provided on the detector ( ). The engaging faces ( ) at the front end of the detecting member ( ) are engaged with an engaging protrusive area ( ) that project from the preventing wall ( ). The detector ( ) is stopped in advance at the standby position. Inside the hood ( ) of male housing ( ), a pair of releasing ribs ( ) are provided, and the upper face extending along an interfitting direction of both housings ( ) and ( ) is connected with the ceiling area of hood ( ).

Connector

A fastening member 30 of a battery terminal 10 has a core wire covering member 32 formed by bending a pair of protecting members 32a which extend from the root portion of a wire barrel 31. The core wire covering member 32 is between the connecting portion 20 and the usual wire barrel portion 31, and is approximately rectangular when seen in cross-section. A clamp bolt 50 and nut 51 are tightened by means of a spanner or the like, thereby attaching the battery terminal 10 to a battery post P. The covering member 32 ensures that the end of the core wire or loose strands of the core wire do not interfere with the tightening operation or become caught on the operator's hand or on a tool. The wire covering members 33, 34 may include inspection apertures 33c, 34b.

A female connector housing 11 has a locking arm 30 integrally moulded thereon, the locking arm 30 having a fitting projection 31. A male connector housing 21 has a fitting hole 24 formed on hood member 22 thereof. Two slots 34 are formed on either side of the fitting projection 31 so as to extend along the longitudinal direction of the locking arm 30. The locking arm 30 is thus partitioned into a fitting arm member 35 which includes the fitting projection 31, and two supporting arm members 36 which are formed on both sides thereof. The foot members 36a of the supporting arm members 36 are thicker than the foot member 35a of the fitting arm member 35, and thus the engagement load of the arm 30 is large, but the projection 35a is nevertheless relatively easy to disengage.

A process for preparing 3-pyrrolidinol having the formula (II): ##STR1## or a salt thereof, which comprises reducing 4-chloro-3-hydroxybutyronitrile having the formula (I): ##STR2## to convert said 4-chloro-3-hydroxybutyronitrile (I) into said 3-pyrrolidinol (II). According to the present invention, 3-pyrrolidinol, particularly optically active 3-pyrrolidinol can be prepared economically and efficiently.
