An outboard motor includes: an upper case supported on a hull; a lower case pivotably supported on the upper case; a first drive source disposed within the upper case; a planetary gear mechanism connected to the first drive source via an upper drive shaft; a propeller shaft connected to the planetary gear mechanism via a lower drive shaft; and a second drive source that provides the lower case with a torque. The planetary gear mechanism includes a sun gear, a planetary carrier supporting planetary gears and connected to an upper end of the lower drive shaft, and an internal gear. One of the sun gear and the internal gear is connected to the lower end of the upper drive shaft, and the other is connected to the lower case to provide the lower case with a torque in a direction opposite to a rotation direction of the lower drive shaft.

Outboard motor

A driving system includes a drive source for driving a left drive portion and a right drive portion, a power transmission mechanism having first and second differential mechanisms each including a first rotating element, a second rotating element and a third rotating element and a switching unit. The first rotating elements of the first and second differential mechanisms are connected to each other so as to rotate in the same direction, the second rotating elements of the first and second differential elements are connected to the left drive portion and the right drive portion, respectively, and the third rotating elements of the first and second differential mechanisms are connected to each other so as to rotate in opposite directions.

Driving system

A driving system includes a drive source for driving a left drive portion and a right drive portion, a power transmission mechanism having a first and second differential mechanisms each including a first rotating element, a second rotating element and a third rotating element and a switching unit. The first rotating elements of the first and second differential mechanisms are connected to each other so as to rotate in the same direction, the second rotating elements of the first and second differential elements are connected to the left drive portion and the right drive portion, respectively, and the third rotating elements of the first and second differential mechanism are connected to each other so as to rotate in opposite directions.

Triple pinion gears each of which is comprised of integrally formed first to third pinion gears, and additional pinion gears rotatably supported by a rotatable carrier. The additional pinion gears mesh with a sun gear and associated ones of third pinion gears, and first and second pinion gears mesh with first and second ring gears, respectively. The rotational speeds of four rotary elements of the carrier, the sun gear, and the first and second ring gears satisfy a collinear relationship in which the rotational speeds thereof are aligned in a single straight line in a collinear chart. The sun gear and the carrier, positioned at opposite outer sides of the straight line in the collinear chart, respectively, are connected to first and second rotating electric machines, respectively, and the second and first ring gears, positioned adjacent to the two, respectively, are connected to left and right output shafts and, respectively.

Power plant

In a power plant, the rotational speeds of four rotary elements, formed by a rotatable carrier that rotatably supports first and second pinion gears which are in mesh with each other, first and second gears which are in mesh with one of the two pinion gears, and a third gear, which is in mesh with the other of the two pinion gears, satisfy a collinear relationship in which the rotational speeds are aligned in a single straight line in a collinear chart. The first and second outer rotary elements, which are positioned at opposite outer sides of the straight line in the collinear chart, respectively, are connected to first and second energy input/output units, respectively. First and second quasi-outer rotary elements positioned adjacent to the first and second outer rotary elements, respectively, are connected to one and the other of two driven parts.

A power plant capable of suppressing loss, and attaining downsizing and enhancement of mountability of the power plant. A power plant capable of achieving downsizing thereof. A driving apparatus for a hybrid vehicle includes an engine shaft, a generator shaft and an idler shaft, which are arranged in parallel. The generator shaft includes at least an inner shaft and a hollow outer shaft which is attached rotatably relative to the inner shaft. The engine shaft connected to the crank shaft of an engine is engaged, through a generator driving gear, to the inner shaft which is coaxially provided with a generator. The outer shaft of the generator shaft which is coaxially provided with a motor is engaged to the idler shaft through a motor driving force transmission gear. The engine shaft and idler shaft are engaged to each other through an engine driving force transmission gear. The idler shaft and a differential device are engaged each other through a final gear. The differential device is connected to driving wheels, through a differential axles. The engine shaft has a clutch which serves to engage or disengage the power between the engine shaft and idler shaft through the engine driving force transmission gear.

Driving apparatus for hybrid vehicle

The present invention provides a hybrid vehicle including a first transmission path that transmits a traction of an engine to driving wheels and a second transmission path that transmits a traction of a motor to the driving wheels, and the hybrid vehicle runs by alternatively selecting either the first or second transmission path or in combination thereof. The first transmission path has a first reduction gear ratio that is defined to be smaller than a reduction gear ratio at which a maximum vehicle speed can be achieved by the traction of the engine alone.

Hybrid vehicle

A hybrid vehicle is provided with a first transmission passage for transmitting driving force of an engine to driving wheels and a second transmission passage for transmitting driving force of a driving motor to the driving wheels, and driven by selectively using or in combination of the first transmission passage and the second transmission passage. The hybrid vehicle includes: a first input gear for inputting the driving force of the engine; a second input gear for inputting the driving force of the driving motor; and an idle gear meshed with the first input gear and the second input gear, and transmitting at least one of the driving force of the engine and the driving force of the driving motor toward the driving wheels. The driving force to be input from at least one of the first input gear and the second input gear is transmitted to the driving wheels via the idle gear and the final differential gears.

In a vehicular driving force distribution system, an oil pump which produces a hydraulic pressure for operating a torque distribution mechanism is driven, via gears and a rotating shaft, by the rotation of a differential case of a differential device. Therefore, regardless of the rotational condition of right and left wheels, namely, even if one of the right and left wheels stops, the oil pump is driven by the driving force of the rotating differential case, thereby reliably operating the torque distribution mechanism. Also, a pump unit for housing the oil pump is supported on a partition wall that separates the differential device from the torque distribution mechanism, thereby easily supporting the oil pump.

Vehicular driving force distribution system

In a vehicular driving force distribution system, a left or right torque distribution clutch is selectively engaged to lock a carrier member or a sun gear of a planetary gear mechanism, whereby torque can be distributed between left and right wheels. Also, if a differential limitation clutch is engaged to control relative rotation of the sun gear and the carrier member of the planetary gear mechanism, the planetary gear mechanism enters a locked state, so that the left and right wheels are integrated to perform differential limitation. By the arrangement of merely providing the differential limitation clutch, the differential limitation can be performed by simple control and moreover the control response is improved, as compared with the case where differential limitation is performed by controlling engagement forces of the left and right torque distribution clutches.

Vehicular driving force distribution device

An electromagnetic brake interposed between a fixed housing and a rotating member. The electromagnetic brake includes a multiplate brake mechanism, a ringlike core member fixed through an annular brake guide inside the fixed housing, an exciting coil accommodated in an annular groove formed on the core member, and a ringlike armature member arranged radially outside of the core member. Each of the core member and the armature member has a plurality of tapering surfaces. The tapering surfaces of the core member are respectively complementary in shape to the tapering surfaces of the armature member. The electromagnetic brake further includes a cylindrical pressure member movable in a direction of pressing the multiplate brake mechanism. The cylindrical pressure member has one end fixed to the armature member and another end engaged with the multiplate brake mechanism.

Electromagnetic brake

The object of the present invention is to provide an electromagnetic friction connecting apparatus, which allows the easier operations associated with the installation of an exciting coil or a search coil in a core element. Input and output terminals having second horizontal parts extending in the vehicle inward direction and second vertical parts extending from the ends of the second horizontal parts into the radial outward direction are provided for the exciting coil and the search coil. Each end of the second vertical parts is situated radially inside a periphery surface of the exciting coil. Holes which allow the respective ends of the second vertical parts of the input and output terminals to face the outside are made on the core element and the housing. They are connected to the ends of the second vertical parts of the input and output terminals by inserting couplers into these holes.

Electromagnetic friction connecting apparatus

A power transmission mechanism for a front and rear-wheel drive vehicle in which the power of an electric motor is transmitted to rear wheels includes an output shaft adapted to rotate together with the electric motor, a middle shaft which is parallel with the output shaft, a drive shaft which is parallel with the output shaft and is adapted to rotate together with the rear wheels, a first pair of reduction gears for reducing the speed of rotation of the middle shaft relative to the output shaft, a second pair of reduction gears for reducing the speed of rotation of the drive shaft relative to the middle shaft and a rear differential disposed closer to an electric motor side than the second pair of reduction gears and coupled to the reduction gear and the drive shaft.
