A dog toilet includes: a receptacle in which a dog urinates; a urination detection sensor that includes a first electrode and a second electrode; and an operating device that operates based on a conducting state of the first electrode and the second electrode of the urination detection sensor. At least one of the first electrode and the second electrode is spaced apart from the receptacle. The dog toilet further includes an insulating member arranged between the receptacle and at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode.

A method of producing animal litter including bentonite which includes a step of forming, from a starting material for animal litter containing bentonite, a starting mixture that contains 10 to 60 mass % of granules that remain on an 8.0 mm-aperture sieve and 40 to 90 mass % of granules that pass through an 8.0 mm-aperture sieve, a step of conveying the starting mixture on a path of conveyance, a step of loading the starting mixture that has been conveyed on the path of conveyance into a granulator capable of pulverizing and granulation, pulverizing at least the granules remaining on the 8.0 mm-aperture sieve while forming a granulated product, and a step of drying the granulated product.

Method of producing animal litter including bentonite

To provide animal toilet sand that can prevent an aggregate from growing depth-wise upon absorption of liquid such as urine, and can suppress scattering. An animal toilet sand composed of a plurality of particulates mainly composed of bentonite, wherein: the particulates include smaller diameter particulates of at least 0.8 mm and no greater than 2 mm in grain size, and larger diameter particulates of at least 2 mm and no greater than 10 mm in grain size; and the particulates include the smaller diameter particulates in a range of at least 20% and no greater than 100% of the larger diameter particulates in ratio by weight. In addition, it is preferable that the proportion of the smaller diameter particulates and the larger diameter particulates with respect to the animal toilet sand is at least 90% in ratio by weight.

A filling method for filling a container with animal litter, whereby large-sized granules and small-sized granules can be easily filled into containers in a predetermined blending ratio, and essentially the same blending ratio can be maintained for different containers. In a supply step in which the animal litter is supplied to a hopper, the animal litter is allowed to freely drop from above the storage space of the hopper, and in the storage space there are formed a first region in which the blending ratio of the small-sized granules with respect to the large-sized granules in a unit mass of the animal litter is equal to or less than the predetermined blending ratio and a second region in which the ratio is greater than the predetermined blending ratio, in an arrangement along the lengthwise direction of the storage space. Also, in a filling step in which the animal litter is filled into containers, delivery holes capable of delivering the animal litter of the first region and delivery holes capable of delivering the animal litter of the second region are selected, and the animal litter is delivered in the predetermined amount at least once each from each of the selected delivery holes, filling the containers so that the large-sized granules and small-sized granules in the unit amount are in the predetermined target blending ratio.

Method of filling a container with animal litter

Provided is an animal litter that is less liable to scatter and in which the depth of the solids is less liable to increase when a liquid such as urine has been absorbed. An animal litter composed of a plurality of particulates having water absorbency, wherein the particulates contain: long grains having a granularity of 4 mm or more and less than 10 mm, and a length that is greater than the diameter; and short grains having a granularity of 4 mm or more and less than 10 mm, and a length that is no more than the diameter. The long grains are provided with a core part primarily composed of pulp, and a coating layer containing highly water-absorbent resin and used for coating the core part. The weight ratio of the short grains in total of the long grains and the short grains is 10%-50%, inclusive.

Animal litter is provided that causes little damage to the legs or the like of animals using a litter box and generates a small amount of ammonia. The animal litter includes a plurality of particulate matter, in which the plurality of respective particulate matter includes a group of particles configured with an inorganic porous material and an inorganic binder which binds the group of particles together, and the inorganic binder includes a non-cement solidifying agent.
