A fabric for plant life contains fibrous material which contains not less than 5% by weight of an organic polymer fiber having a fineness of not less than 30 deniers, a moisture-absorbent polymer; and a binder polymer, the moisture-absorbent polymer and the binder polymer being adhered to the fibrous material. The fabric has a water absorption per volume of from 0.02 to 10 g water/cm.sup.3, shows an apparent density of from 0.001 to 0.3 g/cm.sup.3 under elevated pressure of 20 g/cm.sup.2 and has a thickness of not less than 1.5 mm under elevated pressure of 20 g/cm.sup.2.

Fabric for plant life

The present invention provides a fiber product containing a pyroelectric substance and metal ion-holding inorganic particles. With this fiber product wherein the pyroelectric property of the pyroelectric substance is amplified by the metal ion-holding inorganic particles, there can be sufficiently obtained, with no necessity of using a large amount of a pyroelectric substance which is expensive, various effects, for example, activities of ameliorating diseases and promoting health (e.g. acceleration of blood circulation, cure of autonomic imbalance and promotion of metabolism), activity of maintaining the freshness of foods or natural flowers, activity of removing oil or other stains, and microbicidal activity.

Fiber product containing pyroelectric substance

A fiber is incorporated with a titanium oxide or other photocatalyst and an adsorbent comprising a phosphate of a tetravalent metal and a hydroxide of a divalent metal. The amounts of the photocatalyst and the adsorbent based on the total amount of the fiber are, about 0.1 to 25% by weight and about 0.1 to 25% by weight, respectively. The fiber may have a composite structure such as sheath-core structure in which the concentration of the photocatalyst in the sheath is higher than that of the core, and may be a fiber having a modified cross section.

Deodorizable fibers and method of producing the same

A temperature-sensitive color-changeable composite fiber wherein (A) a thermally color-changeable polymer phase (phase A) composed essentially of a thermally color-changeable material and a thermoplastic polymer having a melting point or a softening point of 230.degree. C. or lower, the content of the thermally color-changeable material being 0.5 to 90% by weight and (B) a protective polymer (phase B) composed essentially of a fiber-forming thermoplastic polymer are brought into contact with each other, (i) the protective polymer phase (phase B) occupying at least 60% of the fiber surface area, and (ii) the protective polymer phase (phase B) occupying 20 to 95% by weight relative to the overall fiber. The composite fiber of this invention has reversibly thermally color-changeable performance of excellent temperature-sensitive color-changeability, color vividness, washing durability and light resistance.
