A reciprocating compressor of a type includes a cylinder block having a plurality of bores disposed in parallel with each other, a valve plate having suction ports corresponding to the respective bores, a cylinder head for closing the outer end of the cylinder block through the valve plate which is held between the cylinder head and the cylinder block and on which suction valves and discharge valves are mounted, a suction chamber formed in the cylinder head adjacent to a refrigerant introduction port, and pistons inserted into the respective bores so as to reciprocate in a predetermined phase difference. In the reciprocating compressor, partitions are disposed in the cylinder head around the outer periphery of the suction chamber for introducing suction gas into the respective bores.

In a reciprocating compressor in which a suction valve ( ) of a leaf valve is placed between a valve plate ( ) and a cylinder block ( ) to open and close a suction port ( ) formed in the valve plate, the suction valve is previously bent to open the suction port in an initial state when the compressor is stopped. The cylinder block has a cylinder bore ( ) with which the suction port is communicated and into which a piston ( ) is inserted. When the piston performs reciprocating movement in the cylinder bore, the suction valve opens and closes the suction port in response to the reciprocating movement in a pulsation reducing manner.

A discharge valve assembly for use in a fluid displacement apparatus has a suction chamber and a discharge chamber on one side of a valve plate, a compression chamber on the other side of the valve plate and a passage formed in the valve plate extending between the compression chamber and the discharge chamber. The discharge valve assembly comprises a valve limiting device secured to the valve plate for limiting the bending movement of a valve member. The valve member is bent away from the valve plate when all external pressure influences are removed. Noise and vibration caused by the striking of the valve member against the valve seat and the retainer member are thereby decreased.

Valved discharge mechanism of a fluid displacement apparatus

A fluid displacement apparatus comprises a valve plate member dividing a compressor housing into a first chamber and a discharge chamber. A passage is formed in the valve plate member to allow communication between the first chamber and the discharge chamber. An elastic valve member disposed on the valve plate bends to open and close the end of the passage. The valve retainer member is secured to the valve plate together with the elastic valve member and has a curved end portion. A valve seat includes a recessed portion offset from an end surface of the valve plate. The recessed portion includes an inclined portion and a wall portion extending therefrom. The distance between the beginning of the curved portion of the valve retainer member and the securing means is greater than the distance between an edge of the recessed portion of the valve seat and the securing means. Noise and vibration caused by the striking of discharge reed valve against the valve seat and the retainer member are decreased according to this arrangement.

Reed valve arrangement for a reciprocating compressor

A refrigerant compressor comprises a compressor housing divided at least partially by a valve plate into a first chamber and a second chamber, the second chamber comprises a discharge chamber. An elastic valve member is capable of bending to open and close an end opening of the conduit. The valve member has a predetermined elastic modulus and is arranged such that the end opening of the conduit remains blocked until a pressure in the first chamber reaches a predetermined value. The valve plate includes a valve seat surrounding the end opening of the conduit and a recessed portion offset from the end surface of the valve plate. The recessed portion includes an inclined surface portion and a wall portion extending therefrom so that the elastic valve member closes the end opening of the conduit without striking the end surface of the valve plate due to an elastic restoring force of the elastic valve member. Noise and vibration caused by the striking of discharge reed valve against the valve plate are thus decreased. As a result, noise and vibration propogated to the passenger compartment of a vehicle are decreased.

Valved discharge mechanism of a refrigerant compressor

A Stirling cycle type engine having five cylinders annularly and equiangularly arranged is disclosed. The expansion chamber of one cylinder is connected to the compression chamber of an adjacent cylinder through a cooler device, a regenerator, and a heater device. The cooler device, regenerator, and heater device are serially stacked and are contained within a cylindrical element. The five cylinders and five cylindrical elements which function as heat exchanging means are supported by a frame having a plurality of plate elements. Each heater device is placed on one of the plate elements adjacent the expansion chamber of one of the cylinders.
