A process for performing video recording and the like after obtaining electronic program data is optimized. According to the process, only program data relating to one or more predetermined preset channels of the channels which are broadcast by a broadcast service are separated from program data which guide programs broadcast by a predetermined broadcast service. Only program data relating to a predetermined channel are stored, and processes of video recording and the like can be performed according to the stored program data.

A recording/reproducing apparatus (e.g., VTR) includes capability to exchange information with a storage apparatus such as a memory card mounted on a recording medium assembly (e.g., cassette). When the cassette is inserted into a compartment in the compartment in a VTR, a switch in the VTR is pushed by the case of the cassette, detecting the insertion of the cassette into the compartment. At that time, a signal indicating the insertion of the cassette into the compartment is supplied to a microcomputer from the switch. Notified by the signal, the microcomputer issues a command to a reader/writer, requesting the reader/writer to read out information pertaining to data recorded on the cassette from the memory card mounted on the cassette for recording the data through an antenna. With the cassette located outside the compartment, on the other hand, the microcomputer issues a command to a reader/writer, requesting the reader/writer to read out the information from the memory card through another antenna.

Recording/reproduction apparatus capable of exchanging information with storage apparatus mounted on recording medium assembly

An apparatus and method for controlling the recording of television programs are disclosed. The apparatus displays electronic program guide information superposed on a television signal. The apparatus allows a plurality of desired programs to be reserved for recording based on the electronic program guide information. An icon is continuously displayed on a television screen in connection with the television picture signal when a program is reserved for recording. An altered form of the icon may be displayed on the television screen when execution of recording the reserved program is impossible due to a specific condition of a recording medium for recording the program. A corresponding method is described.

Apparatus and method for controlling the recording of television programs

A reproducing device provided with at least a reproduction apparatus and a decoding apparatus with decoding transmitted electronic program guide data is provided, and includes a switcher for switching between an antenna received signal and an internally generated signal, and a channel switcher for switching a channel of a display apparatus. When an electronic program guide display request is made, the switcher is automatically switched to the internally generated signal, which is then output on a predetermined channel having a predetermined frequency. Additionally, the channel of the display apparatus to which the internally generated signal is applied is also automatically switched to the predetermined channel number having the predetermined frequency by the channel switcher thus to allow for the display of the electronic program guide. The invention is similarly applicable to a reproduction device also having a recording feature.

An apparatus and a method for controlling the recording of television programs are disclosed. The apparatus displays electronic program guide information superposed on a television signal. The apparatus allows a plurality of desired programs to be reserved for recording based on the electronic program guide information. If any of the reserved programs overlap, the apparatus allows the starting time and/or ending time of any of the overlapped programs to be changed. The apparatus may permit a program to be reserved for recording by inputting recording time and recording channel. If a program reserved for recording based on the electronic program guide information overlaps a program reserved for recording by inputting recording time and recording channel, a preferential setting enables one of the overlapped programs to be recorded. The apparatus advantageously causes an icon to be continuously displayed on a television screen in connection with the television picture signal when a program is reserved for recording. A corresponding method is described.

The video cassette recorder selects channels in succession, determines the presence or absence of additional information included in the broadcast signal for the selected channel, and stores the selected channel regarded as a reception channel for the additional information when detecting the presence of the additional information in the broadcast signal. Further, the recorder extracts station identification information included in the broadcast signal for the selected channel, provides a VCR Plus guide channel corresponding to the station identified by the station identification information, and stores in its memory the relationship between the selected channel and the VCR Plus guide channel. Moreover, the recorder compares a remaining recording time available with the program continuation time extracted from the broadcast signal, and controls a recording speed mode appropriately based on the comparison.

Broadcast signal receiver which has an internal clock controls an internal or external tuner which receives a plurality of broadcast signals to tune to a predetermined broadcast signal which includes time data indicating a local time. The broadcast signal tuned to is supplied as a tuned output signal. The time data is extracted from the tuned output signal and the internal clock of the broadcast signal receiver is automatically set to the local time indicated by the time data.

An aircraft fuselage structure is fabricated by the following steps. A plurality of ring-shaped members are first prepared, each member being provided around the outer peripheral surface thereof at positions spaced apart in the circumferential direction thereof with a plurality of recesses. Elongated plate members are provided which have respective convex parts corresponding to the recesses, to form stringers. The ring-shaped members are then arranged at a coaxially spaced-apart paralleled disposition, and thereafter a laminating jig is inserted into the coaxially arranged ring-shaped members with a silicone bag interposed therebetween, the silicone bag having an open opposite end. The ring-shaped members are placed in annular recesses provided in the laminating jig and in correspondingly formed annular recesses provided in the bag. Then stringers are placed on the ring-shaped members with the convexed parts fitted in the recesses of the ring-shaped members, so that a framework of the ring-shaped members and the stringers are formed. The framework is thereafter fitted on a winding jig, and a fiber-reinforced prepreg of tape form is wound around the framework. The entire assembly is subjected to curing and bagging processes. The jigs and bag are removed finally.
