The electronic apparatus having a normal mode in which first electric power is consumed and a power-saving mode in which second electric power lower than the first electric power is consumed includes a first sensor and a second sensor whose power consumption is lower than that of the first sensor. In the power-saving mode, supply of power to the first sensor is restricted, the second sensor is set to the power-saving mode, a trigger for restoring the power-saving mode to the normal mode is detected by using the second sensor set to the power-saving mode, and the power-saving mode is restored to the normal mode based on the detected trigger.

An input apparatus, a control apparatus, a control system, and a control method that are capable of making a movement of a pointer on a screen a natural movement that matches an intuition of a user are provided. An input apparatus includes a casing, an acceleration sensor, and an angular velocity sensor. The acceleration sensor detects an acceleration value of the casing in a first direction. The angular velocity sensor detects an angular velocity about an axis in a second direction different from the first direction. Instead of calculating a velocity value of the casing by simply integrating the detected acceleration value, the velocity value of the casing in the first direction is calculated based on the acceleration value and the angular velocity value that have been detected. As a result, a highly-accurate calculation of the velocity value of the casing becomes possible, and a movement of a pointer on a screen becomes a natural movement that matches a sense of a user based on a displacement corresponding to the velocity value.

When the input of the operation signal from the switch is started, the MPU reads out the displacement corresponding amount stored in the memory, calculates a first correction displacement amount, and outputs it. Since the first correction displacement amount can be used to correct coordinate values of a pointer obtained before the switch is turned on after a start of a press of the button by the user, the pointer can be prevented from being moved unintentionally.

To provide an input apparatus, a control apparatus, a control system, and a control method that are capable of restricting a movement of a pointer on a screen by a user operation even while the input apparatus is moving. In a state where a movement button is not pressed by a user, an MPU of an input apparatus is not outputting a movement command or is outputting a movement command with a displacement amount set to 0. In other words, even when the user holds the input apparatus and moves it, a pointer does not move on a screen. As a result, a movement of the pointer unintended by the user can be restricted. When the movement button is pressed, that is, when a first operation signal is input via a first switch, the MPU starts outputting the movement command. By receiving the movement command, an MPU of a control apparatus controls display of the pointer so as to start the movement of the pointer that corresponds to the movement command.
