A speed-reducing gear unit is provided for causing a reduced-speed rotation output member to have a reduced rotation that is slower than rotation of an input shaft. The reduced-speed rotation output member is switched between a reduced-speed rotation state and a free rotation state by rotation state switching means. The reduced-speed rotation of the reduced-speed rotation output member is selectively transferred to fourth and first elements of a speed-changing dual planetary gear unit via first and third control clutches. The rotation of the input shaft is transferred to a second element via a second control clutch. Rotations of the first and second elements are selectively restricted by first and second control brakes. A third element is connected to an output shaft. This makes it possible to provide a high-efficiency automatic transmission that achieves seven or more forward gear ratios so as to allow optimal extraction of engine performance in a high vehicle speed region and reduce the vehicle speed change at the time of a gear shift and therefore provide a good feeling, by adding gear speeds including a locked-up speed at a high gear speed side so that adjacent gear ratios are closer to each other.

Automatic transmission

A control apparatus for a vehicle includes an engine, first and second electric motors, an output shaft connected to a drive wheel a differential gear device, the gear elements of which are connected to the engine, the first and second electric motors, and the output shaft, respectively, target output torque setting means for setting target output torque, control torque calculating means for setting a target output torque, and torque control means for controlling a torque in accordance with the control torque. The control torque calculating means includes engine non-rotational state forming means for bringing the engine into a non-rotational state. Since the electric motor torque can be controlled independently, the target output torque can easily be generated, allowing easy generation of a target output torque in the state where the engine is stopped as well as preventing the output torque loss.

Control apparatus and control method for hybrid vehicle

A hybrid vehicle control apparatus, in a vehicle having an engine; a first electric motor and a second electric motor; an output shaft connected to a drive wheel; a differential gear device whose gear elements are connected to the engine, the first and second electric motors, and the output shaft, respectively, has a generated control torque calculation processing device for calculating a control torque generated in association with an electrical control of the second electric motor; an inertia torque calculation processing device for calculating inertia torques; a target control torque calculation processing device for calculating a control torque serving as a target; and a torque control processing device for performing a torque control of the first electric motor in accordance with the control torque serving as the target. As a result, the control torque can be calculated without being affected by inertia torques, so that the drive feeling of the hybrid type vehicle does not deteriorate.

Hybrid vehicle control apparatus and control method

A multi-speed automatic transmission improves transmission efficiency by reducing drag loss due to high speed rotation of a freely rotating element of a planetary gear set. An automatic transmission for a vehicle includes: an input path T of a first speed ratio; an input path T which has a larger speed ratio than this input path T ; a planetary gear set of four elements, wherein the four elements are a first element, a second element, a third element, and a fourth element following an order of elements on a speed diagram; a clutch C- transmitting a rotation of the input path T to the first element S ; a clutch C- transmitting the rotation from the input path T to the fourth element S ; a clutch C- transmitting a rotation from the input path T to the first element; a clutch C- transmitting the rotation from the input path T to the second element C ; a brake B- engaging the fourth element; a brake B- engaging the second element; and an output member coupled with the third element R . Accordingly, drag resistance is prevented from increasing because no extremely high speed rotation of the freely rotating element is generated, even when a speed is achieved using any combination of the engagement elements.

Automatic transmission for a vehicle

A control apparatus for a vehicle includes an engine, first and second electric motors, an output shaft connected to a drive wheel , a differential gear device, the gear elements of which are connected to the engine, the first and second electric motors, and the output shaft, respectively, target output torque setting means for setting target output torque, control torque calculating means for setting a target output torque, and torque control means for controlling a torque in accordance with the control torque. The control torque calculating means includes engine non-rotational state forming means for bringing the engine into a non-rotational state. Since the electric motor torque can be controlled independently, the target output torque can easily be generated, allowing easy generation of a target output torque in the state where the engine is stopped as well as preventing the output torque loss.

A reduction in the weight and size of a speed-change mechanism is obtained by shortening a high-torque transmission system. The speed-change shock is attenuated by reducing an inertia torque in a muilti-stage vehicular automatic transmission. The vehicular automatic transmission is equipped with a planetary gear set that receives a decelerated rotation and a non-decelerated rotation as inputs and outputs a plurality of speed-change rotations, a reduction planetary gear, an input shaft that passes through an inner side of the planetary gear set, first and third clutches that couple the input shaft to two different speed-change elements of the planetary gear set respectively through the reduction planetary gear in an engageable and disengageable manner, and a second clutch that couples the input shaft to the other speed-change element of the planetary gear set in an engageable and disengageable manner. The reduction planetary gear and the third clutch for transmitting a high torque are arranged on one side of the planetary gear set, whereas the first clutch for transmitting a high torque is arranged on the other side of the planetary gear set.

Vehicular automatic transmission

An automatic transmission, which establishes automatic shifts in a multiple gear stages by selectively inputting a plurality of input rotations to a planetary gear set, includes first and third clutches connected through a reduction planetary gear to an input shaft and transmits a decelerated rotation to the planetary gear set and a second clutch directly connected to the input shaft and transmits a non-decelerated rotation to the planetary gear set. The reduction planetary gear is arranged on the end of a boss portion of a transmission case wall and the one element is fixed to the end of the boss portion, hydraulic servos of the first and third clutches are arranged on the boss portion, a hydraulic servo of a second clutch is arranged in the other side of the reduction planetary gear from the hydraulic servos, and the hydraulic paths for the hydraulic servos are formed in the boss portion.
