According to one embodiment, a ceiling-embedded air conditioner includes a main body incorporating a heat exchanger, a decorative panel attached to a lower edge of the main body and including a discharge port discharging air heat-exchanged in the heat exchanger to a room, and a drain pan including a thermal insulating member and a synthetic resin member coating the thermal insulating member. The drain pan includes a recess for receiving drain water produced in the heat exchanger, a communication port provided on a periphery of the recess and communicating with the discharge port of the decorative panel, and a wall standing between the periphery of the recess and the communication port. The wall is composed of the synthetic resin member.

An indoor unit of an air conditioner includes a heat exchanger accommodated inside a indoor unit body which is a housing whose lower face is opened, a drain pan which is disposed below the heat exchanger and receives drain water generated at the heat exchanger, a drain pump which is detachably disposed within the indoor unit body, sucks drain water accumulated in the drain pan and discharges the drain water to the outside, a drain port which is disposed at a bottom face wall section of the drain pan, the port being an opening portion through which the drain pump is insertable, and a drain cap which openably closes the drain pump insertion port.

A ceiling cassette type air conditioner includes a housing adapted for attachment to a room ceiling panel, a bell-mouth provided in the housing and having a bottom opening and an outer circumferential surface. An electrical part box is provided in the housing to accommodate electrical components. The electrical part box is arranged near that side of the bell-mouth at which secondary air flows. The electrical parts are mounted on a control board provided in the electrical part box. The electrical parts are arranged so that those which are located near the outer circumferential surface of the bell-mouth are less tall than the others.

An indoor unit of an air-conditioner having a unit body, provided on a rear of a ceiling, having an lower surface portion exposed indoor and an indoor heat exchanger and a blower in its exterior, a decorative panel, structured as the lower surface portion for the unit body, having an inlet port for guiding air in a room to the indoor heat exchanger, a filter fixing portion, structured as a part of the decorative panel, having a filter attached to a position opposite to the inlet port to be detachable, a support portion for supporting the filter fixing portion to be freely rotatable to the decorative panel, and an open/close driving mechanism for driving the filter fixing portion to be freely opened and closed against the decorative panel in a state that the support portion is used as a fulcrum, the mechanism for hanging the filter fixing portion from a ceiling surface when being opened to be moved.
