A steering device pad is disposed on an upper face of a boss portion in a steering device, and a design portion is disposed in a region of a ceiling wall portion covering the boss portion. The steering device pad includes a pad body and a light source unit disposed on a back face of a ceiling wall portion of the pad body. The ceiling wall portion includes a low translucent portion and a high translucent portion having different light transmittances. The high translucent portion constitutes the design portion so as to be configured to transmit light emitted from the light source unit.

Steering device pad

A steering wheel includes a control unit that executes an acceleration control or a deceleration control of a vehicle based on results of detections by a first contact detecting portion, a second contact detecting portion, a first operation detecting portion, and a second operation detecting portion. The control unit does not execute the acceleration control or the deceleration control based on an operation of a first operating portion when the first operating portion is operated in a state in which the first contact detecting portion is not detecting contact by a driver with a first gripping portion, and does not execute the acceleration control or the deceleration control based on an operation of a second operating portion when the second operating portion is operated in a state in which the second contact detecting portion is not detecting contact by the driver with a second gripping portion.

Steering wheel and vehicle control device

A steering wheel includes a boss, a grip having a substantially rod shape and arranged away from the boss, and a spoke portion connecting the boss and the grip. The grip includes a core for the grip, a coating layer which covers an outer peripheral side of the core, and the decorative body exposed on the upper surface side of the grip. The decorative body has a decorative main body exposed on the upper surface side of the grip and a mounting portion having a long shape, being arranged substantially along the grip, holding the decorative main body and being attached to the coating layer. Mounting fitting portions to be attached to the coating layer is arranged on a lower surface side of the mounting portion and on a side separated from the boss and the spoke portion with respect to the core in a cross section of the grip.

Steering wheel

A method of folding is provided for folding an airbag including a vehicle-side wall, a driver-side wall, an inlet opening formed in the vehicle-side wall and a mounting seat disposed in a periphery of the opening. The method includes a first process conducted in a first direction and a second process conducted in a second direction orthogonal to the former. The first process includes an initial folding that folds back each of opposite sides in the first direction of the airbag as flattened with respect to the mounting seat towards the mounting seat, a rolling that rolls the airbag towards the mounting seat from creases formed in the initial folding, and an invaginating that invaginates each of resulting rolled regions between the vehicle-side and driver-side walls. The second process folds up opposite sides in the second direction of the airbag with respect to the mounting seat each towards the mounting seat.

Method of folding an airbag for a driver's seat

An airbag () by which, when a vehicle () including two seats arranged in a vehicle width direction is subjected to a side collision, an occupant (P, P) sitting in a seat (L,R) at the opposite side of the collision is restricted from moving to the collision side. The airbag () has, in the maximally-expanded status, an outline shape seen from the front side of the vehicle. This outline shape has: an airbag upper part (U) that forms a part equal to or higher than a position corresponding to a shoulder of a seat back (L,R) and that protects the neck and head for example of the occupant (PP); and an airbag lower part (D) that forms a part equal to or lower than a position corresponding to a shoulder of the seat back (L,R) and that protects the shoulder and arm for example of the occupant (P, P). The airbag () is configured to have an entire shape that has the inner outline of the occupant (P, P) in the vehicle width direction.

Airbag

The airbag apparatus includes a folded airbag, an inflator and an airbag storage that stores therein the airbag and the inflator. The airbag is inflated by the gas introduced from the inflator in a region between the left seat and the right seat to abut both to a vehicle interior ceiling above the airbag storage and to interior parts of a vehicle interior below the airbag storage. The airbag prevents an occupant sitting in a seat at a side opposite to collision from moving to the collision side.

Airbag apparatus

There is provided an occupant protecting apparatus which reduces a load applied to an occupant caused by inflating an airbag in a seat portion. The occupant protecting apparatus is provided in a seat portion. The occupant protecting apparatus is constituted by an inflator serving as a gas generation source, and an airbag. In a state in which a gas is not supplied from the inflator, that is, in a state in which the airbag is extended to a rear side from a front side of the seat portion under a non-inflated state, a ratio between a distance from a center position of the inflator to a rear end of a support wall of a second bottom frame, and a distance from a distal end of the airbag to the rear end of the support wall of the second bottom frame is set to be equal to or less than 0.77.
