The present invention has an object of providing a display that makes uniform brightnesses of a display image in a plane of a display panel according to a position of an observer. The display includes a display panel, a surface light source panel that emits light toward a back surface of the display panel, a sensor that senses a position of an observer with respect to the display panel, and a controller, wherein a brightness can be adjusted for each of areas of the surface light source panel, and the controller adjusts respective brightnesses of the areas of the surface light source panel so that brightnesses of a display image in a plane of the display panel are made uniform, when the display panel is observed from the position of the observer sensed by the sensor.

Provided is a backlight capable of keeping display quality, and a display including the backlight. The backlight includes a molded frame and a rear frame that hold an optical member forming an area light source from the front and back sides of a light-outgoing surface of the area light source. The molded frame has a portion forming the frame of the area light source, and has molded-frame projections selectively disposed in this portion and facing the rear frame in the back-and-forth direction. The rear frame has a portion forming the frame of the area light source, and has rear-frame pockets selectively disposed in this portion and facing the molded frame in the back-and-forth direction. Each molded-frame projection and each rear-frame pocket are interlocked, and regulate a movement in the inward-and-outward direction.

Backlight and display

A protection member is disposed on a curved part of a housing having a desired curvature between a first display panel and a second display panel, thus the protection member is deformed along with the curvature of the curved part and curved. The curvature of the curved part formed in the housing has a plurality of curvatures.

Regions including a respective plurality of connectors of a relay FPC are disposed while respectively facing a plurality of planes of a lower frame formed in accordance with a curvature of a curved display panel, and a connection FPC mounted in an end portion of the display panel is connected to the connector of the relay FPC.

The object of the present invention is to prevent deformation in a light guide plate and display anomalies. When the light guide plate is disposed in the backlight, a cushion rubber abuts a side surface of the light guide plate and a side surface portion of a lower frame to be pressed (squeezed) into the light guide plate and the lower frame. The cushion rubber is disposed lower than the side surface of the light guide plate, and is formed at a height not interfering with optical sheets. A protrusion portion is formed from an upper surface portion of an upper frame in a space between an upper surface portion of the cushion rubber and the upper frame to face the upper surface portion of the cushion rubber.

A display device includes: a display panel; a protective member that is disposed on a display surface side of the display panel, and that has an end portion extending outward from an end portion of the display panel; a mold frame that is disposed on an opposite side to the display surface of the display panel, and that constitutes at least a side surface of a backlight except a back surface of the backlight; and a flange frame that is disposed outside the mold frame, and that includes a sidewall portion fixed to the mold frame, and a flange portion that is a peripheral portion extending outward from an upper end portion of the sidewall portion, the flange portion being fixed to a peripheral portion of the protective member.

Display device

A display device of this disclosure: a display element; a first frame holding the display element; a second frame having an opening and engaged with the first frame to arrange therein the display element, and a transparent member arranged on a front surface of the display element with an adhesive material being interposed therebetween. The transparent member is accommodated in an opening without overlapping with the opening of the second frame.

A display device includes a first housing containing a display panel between a backlight and the first housing, the backlight includes a light source substrate, and a second housing that holds the light source substrate, the second housing includes a back surface portion and a first side wall portion protruded in a front surface direction of the backlight from the back surface portion, the light source substrate is fixed to an inside of the first side wall portion, an opening is provided in the first side wall portion so as to overlap the light source substrate, the first housing includes a front surface frame portion and a second side wall portion protruded in a back surface direction of the backlight from the front surface frame portion, a projected portion is provided in an inside of the second side wall portion, and the projected portion is fitted into the opening.

A display apparatus includes a frame that holds a display module. The display module includes a protective member located on a display surface side of a display panel. The frame has a plane surface opposed to a periphery of the protective member and a side surface opposed to a side surface of the display module. The plane surface of the frame is fixed to the periphery of the protective member through a joining member. The display apparatus has a fixing structure to fix the side surface of the frame to the side surface of the display module.

A planar light source apparatus includes a light source; a flexible printed circuit (FPC) having a wiring part that extends from a light source mounting part having the light source; a rear frame that accommodates the light source and the FPC; and a driver substrate, which is arranged on a backside that is an opposite side of an inner surface of the rear frame, and which has a connector configured to connect the FPC, wherein an end portion of the wiring part is extracted to the backside through an opening hole formed in the rear frame and is connected to the connector, and wherein the backside of the rear frame has a protrusion portion, which is arranged in the vicinity of an insertion slot of the connector, and is which formed to be substantially level with an arrangement position of the insertion slot.

A planar light source device includes: a point light source that emits light; a circuit board that has a mounting portion, on which the point light source mounted, and a fixing portion, on which a connector supplying electric power to the point light source is mounted; and a frame that holds the circuit board with the point light source, wherein the circuit board has a protruding portion that protrudes from an end portion of the fixing portion, and wherein the fixing portion of the circuit board is fixed at an inner portion of the frame, and wherein the protruding portion of the circuit board is fixed at an outer portion of the frame, which is opposite to the inner portion of the fixing portion.

Planer light source device with fixing portion and display device using the same

A light source device comprising: a point light source for emitting light; a light source substrate directly mounting the point light source; a light source substrate cover having a through hole or a notch in a position to which the point light source corresponds, the light source substrate cover arranged opposite to a surface of the light source substrate on which the point light source is mounted; and a support member for supporting the light source substrate, the support member arranged to be opposed to the reverse side of the mounting surface of the light source substrate, the support member has a substantially same size with the light source substrate; wherein the light source substrate cover and the support member sandwich the light source substrate to support the light source substrate.

Light source device and surface light source device equipped with same

A display device where concentration of a stress in a display panel is suppressed, to allow improvement in display quality, reliability and the like. A display device includes a display panel, an adhesive layer and a supporting substrate. The adhesive layer is provided on the display panel. The supporting substrate is made up of a member previously provided with curved surfaces. The display panel is bonded onto the curved surface of the supporting substrate by the adhesive layer. The supporting substrate supports the display panel in a curved form along the curved surface.

Display device and method for manufacturing the same

A planar light source device including: a light source; an optical sheet that emits light incident from the light source; a rear frame that is disposed to support the optical sheet; and a reflection sheet, which is included inside the rear frame, and which includes the optical sheet, wherein the reflection sheet has a positioning portion including a notch portion and a bent portion, and wherein the optical sheet has a shape fitting to the positioning portion. The shape of the optical sheet may be not point-symmetrical and may be not line-symmetrical viewing from a light emitting direction.
