In jumping reproduction, when an MPEG transport stream processed by the jumping reproduction is decoded and displayed, many noises occur in the video and the audio corresponding to the vicinity of the jumping. Provided are: a hard disk sectionof reading and reproducing AV data recorded as an MPEG transport stream in a recording medium; and an AV transfer control blockof controlling the hard disk sectionin such a manner that during the reproduction of the AV data, when the reproduction is performed with skipping a predetermined portion of the AV data, before the skipping of the predetermined portion, transport packets are outputted up to the last one among those constituting a frame, and that after the skipping of the predetermined portion, transport packets are outputted starting from the beginning transport packet of the next I frame.

Reproduction apparatus, reproduction method, recording apparatus, recording method, AV data switching method, output apparatus, and input apparatus

The time necessary for dubbing of a bit stream is reduced. A high speed dubbing apparatus includes: a read section () for reading a bit stream conforming to a DVD-VR standard from a first storage device (), and outputting the bit stream; a first buffer () for storing an output from the read section () and outputting a bit stream; a navigation pack generator () for replacing a real time data information pack in the bit stream output from the first buffer () with a navigation pack, and outputting a resultant bit stream; a second buffer () for storing an output from the navigation pack generator () and outputting a bit stream; and a write section () for converting the bit stream output from the second buffer () into a bit stream conforming to a DVD-video standard, and writing the resultant bit stream in a second storage device (). At least two of the read section (), the navigation pack generator () and the write section () operate in parallel.

High speed dubbing apparatus

Conversion of audio data is performed such that a bit stream conforming to the DVD-VR standard is converted into a bit stream conforming to the DVD-video standard. A stream converter includes: a first converter for receiving a bit stream conforming to a DVD-VR standard, converting data except for audio data in the bit stream into data conforming to a DVD-video standard, and outputting a resultant bit stream; and a second converter for converting, when the audio data in the bit stream output from the first converter does not conform to the DVD-video standard, the audio data into data conforming to the DVD-video standard, and outputting a resultant bit stream.

Stream converter

An image reproduction apparatus that selects arbitrary video/audio data among a plurality of MPEG transport streams which have been recorded in a storage medium at different times, and re-multiplexes the selected video and audio data into one MPEG transport stream to be reproduced. When a MPEG transport stream is recorded in the storage medium, a reference clock is generated from Program_clock_reference in the stream, and then the MPEG transport stream is recorded with the generated reference clock attached thereto as an Arrived Time Stamp. At the start of reproduction, a common PCR is generated on the basis of the ATS value to be used as a video/audio PCR. Further, as for PTS and DTS, the difference value in the ATS of packets having PTS and DTS in the same video/audio is calculated, and the video or audio is outputted so as not to vary the difference value.

Image reproduction apparatus

In a content distribution system, a recording-management system makes a storing section of a first terminal device store a predetermined content stored in a content-storing section of a distribution device obligatorily. Under this condition, when a second terminal device requests the recording management system to distribute the predetermined content, the recording management system transmits the address identifying the first terminal device that stores the predetermined content to the second terminal device. The content stored in the first terminal device is transmitted and received between the second terminal device and the first terminal device having the received address through a user network to obtain the predetermined content. Thus, the content requested by a given terminal device can be distributed to the terminal device that has made the request without increasing the scale of the distribution device.

Alternation processes reduce the recording and reproducing speed of a hard disk apparatus. A hard disk apparatus comprising: an HDDfor recording AV data onto a hard disk; and stream controlling meanswhich is connected to the HDDand thereby processes the signal of AV data transmitted from an IEEE1394 I/F 7 or the signal of AV data transmitted to the IEEE1394 I/F 7; whereby the hard disk apparatus can record and/or reproduce the AV data, wherein when AV data transfer is not normally completed for a disk access unit which is a minimum continuous unit in the access to the hard disk, an alternation process on a disk access unit basis is carried out so that another disk access unit is used hereafter in place of that disk access unit.

A reproduced image transmission apparatus which can display reversely reproduced images normally even when the transfer order of asynchronous transfer and isochronous transfer is not ensured on IEEE1394, in cases where an apparatus for generating the reversely reproduced images and an apparatus for decoding the reversely reproducing images are connected with each other via an IEEE1394 network. An MPEG transport stream processing means 15 embeds control signal for controlling decoding in an MPEG picture, and transmits the signal together with the MPEG picture through the IEEE1394 network in the isochronous transfer mode, whereby the synchronization between the MPEG picture and its control signal is surely obtained, thereby to generate reversely reproduced images according to MPEG using P and B pictures.

Reproduced image transmitting apparatus

A reproducing device has an input means for inputting an MPEG transport stream from a hard disk; and reproducing means for reproducing the inputted MPEG transport stream, in case of reproducing a special reproduction image, the input means extracts an MPEG transport stream from an arbitrary position to another arbitrary position in the inputted MPEG transport stream to output the special reproduction image used for special reproduction, and the reproducing means reproduces the special reproduction image while detecting whether a plurality of pieces of picture data exist in one of MPEG transport packets constituting the outputted special reproduction image.

Reproducing device, medium, information aggregate, transmitting medium, and recording medium

A special reproduction data generating device is provided. An MPEG transport stream is input to the special reproduction data generating device. The device includes a special reproduction data generator for directly generating special reproduction data by selecting a transport packet including data of a predetermined kind of frame from transport packets of the MPEG transport stream, without converting the inputted MPEG transport stream to an ES (elementary stream) or PES (packetized elementary stream). The special reproduction data generating device outputs the special reproduction data as an MPEG transport stream.
