According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes a first magnetic pole, a second magnetic pole, a magnetic element, and a magnetic member. The magnetic element is provided between the first and second magnetic poles, and includes a first magnetic layer. The magnetic member includes a first magnetic part. A second direction from the first magnetic part to the magnetic element crosses a first direction from the first to second magnetic pole. The first magnetic part includes a magnetic material including at least one of first to third materials. The first material includes at least one selected from the group consisting of MnSn, MnGe and MnGa. The second material includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a cubic or tetragonal compound including Mn and Ni, a cubic alloy including γ-phase Mn, and a cubic alloy including Fe. The third material includes an antiferromagnet.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording device includes a magnetic recording medium group and a magnetic head group. The magnetic recording medium group includes a first magnetic recording medium, a plurality of second magnetic recording media, and a plurality of third magnetic recording media. The magnetic head group includes a first magnetic head, a plurality of second magnetic heads, and a plurality of third magnetic heads. The first magnetic head is configured to record data on the first magnetic recording medium by a first method. One of the plurality of second magnetic heads is configured to record data on one of the plurality of second magnetic recording media by a second method different from the first method. A surface shape detection device using differential interference optics achieves restoration error reduction of a surface shape while maintaining resolution. The surface shape detection device includes: a light spot scanning unit such as a wafer rotation direction drive unit that scans a wafer surface with a light spot; an interference light detection mechanism such as a differential interference optical system that detects interference light of light obtained by scanning a surface of an inspection target with a plurality of the light spots separated by a predetermined design distance; and a surface shape restoration processing unit such as a wafer surface shape restoration unit that samples, at a predetermined quantization time interval, and calculates information of the interference light, and performs restoration processing on a surface shape of the wafer, in which the predetermined design distance is larger than a quantization distance interval corresponding to the predetermined quantization time interval.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic sensor includes first and second elements, first and second interconnects, a first circuit portion electrically connected to the first and second interconnects and a second circuit portion electrically connected to the first and second elements. The first circuit portion supplies a first alternating current to the first interconnect and supplies a second alternating current to the second interconnect. The second circuit portion supplies a first element current to the first element and supplies a second element current to the second element. At a first time, the first alternating current has a first alternating current orientation, and the second alternating current has a second alternating current orientation. The first non-magnetic layer is provided between the second magnetic layer and the magnetic pole, and contacts the magnetic pole and the second magnetic layer. The first magnetic layer has a first thickness and a first saturation magnetic flux density. The second magnetic layer has a second thickness and a second saturation magnetic flux density. A second product of the second thickness and the second saturation magnetic flux density is larger than a first product of the first thickness and the first saturation magnetic flux density.
