A linear motion guide bearingincludes a rail, a slider, and a plurality of rolling elements. The sliderhas formed therein a pair of circulation passages, which are spaces connecting one end and another end in each of a pair of load-carrying races, which are spaces between a pair of first rolling surfacesand a pair of second rolling surfaces. In a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, the railincludes a bottom wall portion, a first side wall portion, a second side wall portion, and a top wall portion. One first rolling surfaceis made up of a wall surfaceA on an inner side of a first corner portion, which is a region where the second side wall portionand the bottom wall portionare connected. A follower bearing module includes a follower bearing, a fixing element, and a fastening element. The follower bearing includes an inner member, an outer ring having an annular second raceway surface that faces a first raceway surface, and a plurality of rolling elements. The inner member includes a large diameter portion having the first raceway surface, and a shaft portion extending from the large diameter portion and having at least a portion accommodated in a mounting hole. The fixing element includes a cylindrical portion disposed in a shaft through hole and having a threaded groove on its inner circumferential surface, and a plate-shaped portion provided at one end of the cylindrical portion. The fastening element fastens the follower bearing and the fixing element with the cylindrical portion being disposed in the shaft through hole. At least one of the follower bearing and the fixing element includes a rotation prevention mechanism.

The present invention relates to a linear motion guide unit manufactured at low cost by forming at least a slider from a single metal plate, and reduced in sliding resistance of rolling elements as well as a method of manufacturing the same. The linear motion guide unit includes a guide rail, and the slider formed from a single metal plate. The guide rail has a bottom part, and a pair of longitudinal side parts standing from opposite sides of the bottom part, extending longitudinally in a mutually facing manner, and having respective raceway grooves in which the rolling elements roll. The slider includes an upper part, a pair of mutually facing sleeve parts extending downward from opposite sides of the upper part and having respective raceway grooves and return passages, and end cap parts formed respectively at opposite ends of the upper part and having turnaround grooves.

Linear motion guide unit and method of manufacturing the same

A swing bearing allows a reduction in thickness, weight, and manufacturing cost by fixing together a pair of split rings each formed of a plate member to form an outer ring, and fixing together a pair of split rings each formed of a plate member to form an inner ring. The outer ring is composed of a pair of split rings which are obtained by splitting the outer ring at an axially midpoint of the first raceway groove, are formed of respective plate members, and are fixed together. The inner ring is composed of a pair of split rings which are obtained by splitting the inner ring at an axially midpoint of the second raceway groove, are formed of respective plate members, and are fixed together.
