A plurality of magnet rings for correcting a convergence are arranged in a tube axis direction with spacers interposed therebetween, on an outer circumferential surface of a neck. A velocity modulation coil for modulating a scanning velocity in a horizontal direction of an electron beam is placed so that a position of the velocity modulation coil in the tube axis direction is overlapped with those of the magnet rings. At least one of the spacers is made of only a magnetic substance. Alternatively, at least one of the spacers is made of a magnetic substance, and the outermost surface in a radius direction of the spacer made of a magnetic substance is covered with a non-metallic material. Because of this, the magnetic field formed by the velocity modulation coil can be intensified without disturbing the magnetic field of the magnet rings of a CPU.

Cathode-ray tube apparatus with magnetic spacers between magnetic rings

In a cross-section including a tube axis, assuming that Trepresents a thickness of a funnel at a point on an outer circumferential surface of the funnel, which is placed at the same position in a tube axis direction as that of an end of a horizontal deflection coil on a phosphor screen side, and Trepresents a thickness of the funnel at a point on the outer circumferential surface of the funnel, which is placed at the same position in the tube axis direction as a position 7 mm away from the end of the horizontal deflection coil on the phosphor screen side to the phosphor screen side along the tube axis, the funnel includes at least one cross-section including the tube axis satisfying a relationship: T/T&#x2267;1.18. Owing to this, cone halation can be prevented while an X-ray leakage amount is limited to a predetermined value or less.

Cathode-ray tube apparatus

An insulating frame of a deflection yoke is fixed to a funnel with a metal band and a metal screw. A partition formed so as to be integrated with a holder holding a magnet ring of a CPU includes a first partition provided on a first axis so as to hide the metal screw when the deflection yoke is seen from the holder side along a tube axis, and a second partition provided on a second axis orthogonal to the first axis. A height Hof the first partition, a height Hof the second partition, a minimum height Hof the partition, a height Hof a pull of a magnet ring on a side closest to the deflection yoke, and an outer circumferential edge diameter Rof the magnet ring excluding the pull satisfy relationships: H&#x3e;H, H&#x2212;H&#x3e;10 mm, and H&#x3e;R. Because of this, a discharge between a metal band and a metal screw that fix the deflection yoke, and a velocity modulation coil can be prevented without decreasing the operability of the rotation adjustment of the magnet ring of the CPU.

Color cathode-ray tube apparatus

In the vicinity of an end on the side of a large diameter portion of a deflection device, a pair of first permanent magnets for converging three electron beams in an X-axis direction and a pair of second permanent magnets for diverging them in the X-axis direction are provided. Inclination coefficients Kand Kof the distribution curve near the Z axis on the X axis of the Y-axis direction magnetic flux density of the magnetic fields respectively formed by the pair of first permanent magnets and the pair of second permanent magnets satisfy K/K&#x3c;10 in at least one location within a range of 3 to 13 mm on the side of the phosphor screen with respect to a reference line in the Z-axis direction. An inclination coefficient Kof the distribution curve near the Z axis on the X axis of the Y-axis direction magnetic flux density of a combination magnetic field formed by the pair of first permanent magnets and the pair of second permanent magnets and an inclination coefficient Kof the distribution curve near the Z axis on the Y axis of the X-axis direction magnetic flux density of the combination magnetic field are both larger than 1.5 (Gauss/cm) in at least one location within the above-noted range. This achieves excellent spot shapes, thus making it possible to reduce change in convergence characteristics due to temperature variation and pincushion distortion of right and left rasters.

Color cathode ray tube apparatus

A projection tube apparatus includes: a valve made up of a face panel having a screen face on its external face, a funnel connected to a rear portion of the face panel, and a neck portion; an electron gun that emits an electron beam and is housed in the neck portion; and a deflection device mounted at an outer circumference of the funnel on the neck portion side. The deflection device at least includes: horizontal deflection coils that generate a horizontal deflection field for deflecting the electron beam in the horizontal direction; vertical deflection coils that generate a vertical deflection field for deflecting the electron beam in the vertical direction and is disposed outside the horizontal deflection coils; and a ferrite core disposed outside the vertical deflection coils. A distance Ls between an end portion of the horizontal deflection coils on the screen face side and the screen face is set to 55 mm&#x2266;Ls&#x2266;80 mm.

Projection tube apparatus

A deflection yoke includes a horizontal deflection coil, a vertical deflection coil, an insulating frame made of an insulating material, a deflection adjusting plate attached to an outer circumferential surface of the insulating frame, and a ferrite core covering at least a part of an outer circumference of the insulating frame. The deflection adjusting plate is fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the insulating frame, under the condition of being surrounded by a high-soft resin material with a hardness of 10 to 60. Because of this, even when the deflection adjusting plate vibrates during driving, the deflection adjusting plate does not directly bump into the insulating frame, so that the noise generated by the deflection yoke can be reduced significantly.

Deflection yoke and cathode-ray tube apparatus

A pair of velocity modulation coils are placed with a horizontal plane including a tube axis interposed therebetween, and a pair of magnetic substances are placed with a vertical plane including a tube axis interposed therebetween. A straight line portion of the velocity modulation coil extending substantially in parallel to the tube axis is placed between the magnetic substance and the tube axis. An interval D between the magnetic substance and the straight line portion is 1 to 3 mm. Assuming that the tube axis is a Z-axis, a size of the velocity modulation coil in a tube axis direction is L, and a position of an end of the velocity modulation coil on a side opposite to a phosphor screen in the tube axis direction is Z=0, a center point of the pair of magnetic substances in the tube axis direction is present in a range of Z=0.2&#xd7;L to 0.9&#xd7;L. Consequently, the sensitivity of velocity modulation can be enhanced while suppressing an increase in a driving power with a simple configuration.

Velocity modulation coil apparatus and cathode-ray tube apparatus

A deflection coil for deflecting an electron beam emitted from an electron gun is provided outside a cathode-ray tube in which the electron gun is housed, and a phosphor screen is formed. The cathode-ray tube further includes a velocity modulation coil for modulating a horizontal scanning velocity of an electron beam, a first magnetic substance surrounding an outer circumference of the cathode-ray tube from outside the velocity modulation coil, and a second magnetic substance surrounding the outer circumference of the cathode-ray tube between the deflection coil and the first magnetic substance. Because of this, the sensitivity of velocity modulation can be enhanced effectively with a simple configuration while deflection distortion is prevented.

A CRT apparatus is composed of a CRT, a deflection yoke, a velocity modulation coil, and a magnetic member. The CRT includes a glass bulb made up of a panel and a funnel connected together and an electron gun housed within the glass bulb, and emits an electron beam from the electron gun toward a phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of the panel. The deflection yoke includes a horizontal deflection coil and a vertical deflection coil, and scans the electron beam over the phosphor screen. The velocity modulation coil is arranged outside the CRT, and modulates a velocity at which the electron beam is scanned horizontally. The magnetic member is arranged to surround an outer circumference of the CRT with the velocity modulation coil positioned therebetween, so as to cover a position corresponding to a space between axially aligned electrodes of the electron gun.

The invention provides a deflection yoke comprising: a tube-shaped core made of a magnetic material that has on its inner wall, ridges each of which extends along the CRT axis direction, the ridges being arranged circumferentially at intervals and thereby forming slots; a vertical deflection coil wound so that part of its length is disposed in the slots; and a horizontal deflection coil wound so that part of its length is disposed in the slots, wherein the slots include (a) first slots in which one of the horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil is disposed and (b) second slots in which both of the deflection coils are disposed, and the bottom of each first slot is, for part or all of the length of the slot, closer to the external surface of the evacuated envelope than the bottom of each second slot is.

Deflection yoke and CRT device

Disclosed is a deflection yoke mounted around a glass bulb of a CRT so as to cover a predetermined area of the glass bulb. The predetermined area is where an outer shape of the glass bulb smoothly goes from circular to substantially rectangular along a tube axis of the CRT. The deflection yoke includes a horizontal deflection coil disposed in a shape to fit with the outer shape of the glass bulb, and a funnel-shaped ferrite core disposed to surround the horizontal deflection coil. The inner shape of the ferrite core is circular throughout a length of the ferrite core.

Deflection york and CRT device using the deflection york

A deflection yoke device includes a deflection yoke for deflecting electron beams in horizontal and vertical directions, the electron beams being emitted from an electron gun of a color cathode ray tube; coma correcting coils positioned on an electron gun side of the deflection yoke so as to be opposed to each other in such a manner that the electron beams pass therebetween; and a pair of cores around which the coma correcting coils are wound, wherein a sliding mechanism is further provided for allowing each of the coma correcting coils to be slidable with respect to the corresponding core. Therefore, a misconvergence can be corrected by a simplified configuration without reducing a sensitivity of the coma correcting coils.

Deflection yoke device

In a deflection yoke including a horizontal deflection coil, an insulation frame, a vertical deflection coil, and a ferrite core arranged in this order outwardly, on an outer wall of a minor diameter portion of the insulation frame, a plurality of elastic projections are provided that are arranged in a standing condition to hold an outer wall of a minor diameter portion of the ferrite core. The ferrite core thus can be held in an optimum position in a vertical axis direction. Preferably, the outer wall of the minor diameter portion of the ferrite core has a tapered portion having a diameter decreasing in a direction towards an end side of the minor diameter portion that is held by the elastic projections. The ferrite core thus can be held also in an optimum position in a tube axis direction. A color cathode ray tube device with reduced YH crossed misconvergence thus can be realized.

Deflection yoke and color cathode ray tube device

A deflection yoke having a capability of correcting a lateral inner pincushion distortion with a magnetic field generated by a deflecting coil itself is provided. The deflection yoke includes a saddle-type vertical deflecting coil including a screen side bend portion, a neck side bend portion and a cone portion connecting the screen side bend portion and the neck side bend portion and is installed to a cathode ray tube. When viewing the screen side bend portion of the vertical deflecting coil from a screen side of the cathode ray tube in a direction along the tube axis, a distance between the screen side bend portion and the tube axis is the minimum at a portion close to a diagonal direction of the screen. As a result, the lateral inner pincushion distortion can be corrected with a magnetic field generated by the deflecting coil itself with a simple configuration, without adding any component for correcting the distortion and increasing a deflecting power.

Deflection yoke

A cathode ray tube apparatus comprising: a deflection yoke comprising a horizontal deflection coil that forms the pin cushion distortion as a whole; a vertical deflection coil that forms the barrel distortion as a whole: a resin frame provided around the periphery of the horizontal deflection coil, which insulates and fastens the horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil; and a ferrite core provided around the periphery of the vertical deflection coil to strengthen the magnetic flux and the length of part of cone portion of the horizontal deflection coil at the side of the screen whose winding angle is not less than 0 degree nor more than 30 degree with respect to the reference line is 25 mm or longer as measured from the reference line. This cathode ray tube apparatus can correct the pin cushion distortion of raster in the upper-and-lower side of the picture for flattened and increased deflection angle cathode ray tubes with the deflection yoke itself.
