An optical connection structure including first optical fibers, second optical fibers, a first optical connector, and a second optical connector is disclosed. Each of the first distal end portions is inserted into a corresponding second fiber hole of the second optical connector. The second optical connector is configured such that each of second distal end portions of the second optical fibers is moved rearward inside second fiber holes due to each of the first distal end portions respectively inserted into the second fiber holes. The first optical fibers and the second optical fibers are optically coupled to each other inside the second fiber holes.

Each of the first and second optical fiber cables has N optical connector groups for racks and an optical connector group for distribution frame including M optical connectors. The closer the number of an optical connector of the M optical connectors is to the last number, the longer a wiring distance from the optical connector group for distribution frame to a corresponding optical connector group of the N optical connector groups for racks in the first optical fiber cable. The closer the number of an optical connector of the M optical connectors is to the last number, the shorter a wiring distance from the optical connector group for distribution frame to a corresponding optical connector group of the N optical connector groups for racks in the second optical fiber cable.

A measurement system includes a measurement device including a light source, and a first power meter, and one or a plurality of connection members each configured to optically connect a pair of optical fiber lines of the plurality of optical fiber lines. A first optical fiber line of the pair of optical fiber lines includes a first end and a second end, a second optical fiber line of the pair of optical fiber lines includes a third end and a fourth end, the one or plurality of connection members optically connect the second end to the fourth end, the light source causes testing light to be incident on the first end, and the first power meter measures first intensity of first output light output from the third end by causing the testing light to propagate through the pair of optical fiber lines.

Measurement system

An optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of optical fiber cores arranged in parallel in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber cores, and a coupling member configured to couple the plurality of optical fiber cores. In the optical fiber ribbon, a plurality of coupled sections and a plurality of separate sections are alternately provided in the longitudinal direction. Each of the plurality of coupled sections is in a state in which all of the adjacent optical fiber cores are coupled by the coupling member. Each of the plurality of separate sections is in a state in which at least two of the optical fiber cores adjacent to each other are not coupled by the coupling member.

An optical connector is disclosed. The optical connector includes a rear housing, an inner housing, and an outer housing. The inner housing includes a retaining hole to accommodate a ferrule. The outer housing is disposed on an outer periphery of the inner housing to cover a front portion of the inner housing. The outer housing rotates about the central axis with respect to the inner housing by a rotation guiding mechanism cooperating with an adapter for connecting the optical connector to another optical connector. The outer housing includes a front wall covering the distal end of the inner housing. The front wall includes at least one opening region. The opening region corresponds to a fiber exposed surface of the ferrule when the outer housing is rotated with respect to the inner housing from an initial position to a connected position by the rotation guiding mechanism.

Optical connector

An optical connector is disclosed. The optical connector includes a rear housing, an inner housing, an arm and an outer housing. The inner housing includes at least one retaining hole to house a ferrule. The rear housing moves linearly and rotates with respect to the inner housing. The arm moves linearly together with the rear housing with respect to the inner housing. The outer housing disposed on an outer periphery of the inner housing covers a front portion of the inner housing. The outer housing rotates with respect to the inner housing by a rotation guiding mechanism cooperating with the arm. The outer housing includes a forward wall covering the distal end of the inner housing. An opening area of the forward wall can be aligned with the retaining hole of the ferrule when the outer housing is rotated from an initial position to a connected position.

An optical connector according to an exemplary embodiment is an optical connector including a plurality of optical connector plugs collectively connected to each of a plurality of adapters arranged along a first direction and a second direction intersecting the first direction, along a connection direction intersecting both the first direction and the second direction, the optical connector includes: a plurality of holders configured to be arranged along the second direction while holding the plurality of optical connector plugs arranged in the first direction, and a handle configured to hold the plurality of holders arranged in the second direction.

An optical connector is disclosed. The optical connector includes a rear housing, an inner housing, an arm and an outer housing. The inner housing includes at least one retaining hole to house a ferrule. The rear housing moves linearly with respect to the inner housing and rotates with respect to the inner housing. The arm moves linearly together with the rear housing with respect to the inner housing. The outer housing is disposed on an outer periphery of the inner housing so as to cover a front portion of the inner housing. The outer housing rotates with respect to the inner housing by a rotation guiding mechanism cooperating with the arm. The outer housing includes a forward wall covering the distal end of the inner housing. An opening area of the forward wall can be aligned with the retaining hole or a fiber exposure face of the ferrule when the outer housing is rotated with respect to the inner housing from an initial position to a connected position.

A measurement system is a measurement system inspecting an optical transmission line configured by connecting a plurality of optical cables, each of which includes a plurality of optical fibers, wherein the optical transmission line includes a plurality of optical fiber lines configured by connecting the plurality of optical fibers in the plurality of optical cables, the measurement system including: a first measurement device configured to be disposed at a first end of the optical transmission line; and a second measurement device configured to be disposed at a second end of the optical transmission line, wherein the first measurement device and the second measurement device perform a first measurement to inspect whether the optical cable is misconnected, and a second measurement to inspect the plurality of optical fiber lines in a case where it is determined that there is no misconnection in the first measurement.

The present invention relates to an optical connector and assembly method thereof to provide easier, faster and more stable coupling characteristics without fusion connection nor end-face polishing procedures at job sites. The optical connector includes a ferrule formed of a cylindrical body having a channel along a center axis thereof, the ferrule intermediate section having a cut-away portion, the ferrule with a built-in optical fiber projecting into the cut-away portion; a support member existing within the cut-away portion for maintaining a contact section between the built-in optical fiber and the optical fiber inserted from the backward section; and a locking member for holding together the intermediate section and the support member from the outer periphery of the intermediate section.
