A non-aqueous ink jet ink composition is provided that can form an image having excellent weather resistance, abrasion resistance, and coloring property. The non-aqueous ink jet ink composition includes a cyclic ester compound, at least one first solvent represented by the following General Formula (1) and having a flash point of 140&#xb0; C. or lower: RO&#x2014;(RO)&#x2014;R, a second solvent represented by the General Formula (1), and C.I. Pigment Orange-43 (PO-43) as a pigment. In the at least one first solvent represented by General Formula (1), Rand Reach independently represent hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, Rrepresents an alkylene group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, and m represents an integer of 2 to 6. The second solvent represented by General Formula (1) includes a glycol monoether compound in which at least one of Rand Ris hydrogen. A volume average particle diameter of the PO-43 is 100 nm or more and 400 nm or less.

An ink jet ink set includes a plurality of inks to be ejected by an ink jet method. The ink set includes a first ink containing metal particles, and a second ink containing a coloring agent selected from materials other than metal. Solvent-based ink jet ink composition accommodating body

Non-aqueous ink jet ink composition and ink jet recording method

An ink jet recording method according to the invention includes: ejecting droplets of non-water-based ink, which contains an organic solvent, a color material, and resin, from nozzles of a recording head and causing the droplets to adhere to a recording medium to form an image; and preliminarily ejecting the droplets of the non-water-based-ink from the nozzles of the recording head not for forming the image. In the preliminary ejecting of the droplets, a time interval at which the preliminary ejecting is performed by a predetermined nozzle is equal to or greater than two seconds and equal to or less than twenty five seconds. The organic solvent contains a first solvent which is at least one kind selected from a hydrocarbon-based solvent, an alcohol-based solvent, and an ester-based solvent. Content of the first solvent is equal to or greater than 40% by mass with respect to entire content of the non-water-based ink.
