A laser medium unit includes: a plate-shaped laser gain medium which includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface and generates emission light by the irradiation of excitation light from the first surface; a reflection member that is provided on the second surface so as to reflect the excitation light and the emission light; and a cooling member that cools the laser gain medium. The laser gain medium includes an irradiation area which is irradiated with the excitation light and an outer area which is located outside the irradiation area when viewed from a thickness direction intersecting the first surface and the second surface. The cooling member is thermally connected to the second surface through the reflection member so that a cooling area of the laser gain medium is formed on the second surface.

Fiber laser unitcomprises a plurality of fiber lasersandthat generate laser beams by exciting a laser active substance inside coresandby exciting light, propagate the laser beams inside the coresand, and output the laser beams from the end portionsand, wherein the respective fiber lasersandhave resonatorsandthat reflect the laser beams on both ends, andthereof and have a structure in which a part of the coresandis reduced in diameter, the diameter reduced portions of the coresandare made proximal to each other, injection synchronization is carried out inside the resonatorsandby laser beams leaked from the coresand, and a loss is applied to the port of either one of the fiber lasersand. According to this fiber laser unit, by a simple structure in which the coresandare made proximal to each other and injection synchronization is carried out by using laser beams leaked from the coresand, coherent addition of lasers with extremely high addition efficiency is realized.

Fiber laser unit

There is proposed an optical fiber laser device which can also precisely perform a frequency control or the like in relation to a vertical mode of a resonator. A long piece of laser fiber,which has been wound multiple times is embedded with clearance and fixed in a transparent ultraviolet hardening resin,formed in a rectangular parallelepiped. Both end portions of the laser fiber are exposed to the outside. The laser fiber,is provided with a clad,on a periphery of a core,. Inside the core,at % of Nd,ion is doped.

Optical fiber laser device

A laser apparatus capable of very effectively converting excitation light to laser oscillation light includes a single continuous long laser fiber wound by multiple turns and made immobile by an ultraviolet setting resin as to form a cylindrical shape conglomerate whose opposite ends are exposed as outputs for laser beam, and generates a laser oscillation light from the opposite ends upon radiation of excitation light from a periphery of the fiber. The laser fiber has a clad covering a core, which is doped with active lasing substances such as Nd.sup.3+ ions.
