A charged particle beam device acquires an image by scanning a specimen with a probe formed from a charged particle beam and detects a signal emitted from the specimen. The charged particle beam device includes an optical system that forms the probe; a control unit that repeatedly performs correction processing and image acquisition processing for acquiring a frame image; and an image processing unit that generates an image of the specimen based on a plurality of the frame images. In the correction processing, the control unit acquires a reference image, and corrects the shifting of the irradiation position of the probe. The image processing unit acquires position shift information, corrects a position shift between the frame images based on the position shift information, and generates an image of the specimen based on the plurality of corrected frame images.

Disclosed is a musical tone signal generating apparatus for an electronic musical instrument. When waveforms are switched to change a tone color in correspondence with a change in pitch, waveforms are switched not simultaneously with a change in pitch but when waveform data corresponding to a loop end address is read out, and a peak value of the waveform falls within a predetermined range or a zero-crossing point is detected, thereby smoothly switching waveforms. The pitch is also changed at the above-mentioned timing to prevent generation of an unnecessary tone color upon switching. Furthermore, waveforms are switched by cross-fade control to more smoothly switch output waveforms.

An electronic material instrument includes a tone generator for synthesizing tones by using a number of time-division multiplexed (TDM) modules, an input unit for programming a connection configuration (tone synthesis algorithm) for the modules of each module pair, and a processing unit for converting the input program into control data for each module and transferring the control data to the tone generator. In one embodiment, each module pair is selectively operative in an addition mode, a phase mode or a ring modulation mode, independently of the modes selected for the other module pairs. It is thus possible to attain a tone synthesis desired by the user, and to make the best use of the capacity of the tone generator.

A key scaling apparatus includes a reference data input device which is operated by a user of an electronic musical instrument to designate at least three different key numbers together with respective key scaling data for those key numbers. When a key number is supplied from a play input device such as a keyboard in the electronic musical instrument, an interpolator computes key scaling data for that key number from the data designated by the reference data input device. The computed key scaling data serve to control a tone parameter such as an envelope level which is then used in a tone generator to develop a tone for that key number. Accordingly, a satisfactory key scaling response is obtained over the entire pitch range of keyboard.

A plurality of drum pads are each provided with a respective piezoelectric pick-up. The output of each piezoelectric pick-up is fed to a corresponding envelope-extracting circuit. The envelope signal extracted by the envelope-extracting circuit is converted by an A/D converter into a digital signal which is fed to a CPU. The CPU feeds a tone designation signal to a tone generator unit according to parameter data from a parameter data setter and the digital signals noted above, thereby causing generation of a corresponding drum sound.

Electronic drum instrument

A device for computing interpolated values of a waveform generated in an electronic device, includes a memory for storing waveform data of a periodic sinusoidal wave, and an address signal generator for generating an address signal. The waveform data consists of sine wave data and cosine wave data. An address signal from the generator or a signal obtained by inverting the address signal (i.e., inverted address signal) is supplied to the memory. Upon receipt of the address signal, the memory reads out the sine wave data or the cosine wave data. Upon receipt of the inverted address signal, it reads out the remaining wave data. The wave data read from the memory is multiplied by a multiplier, which produced an interpolated value. An adder adds this value to the sine or consine wave data read out from the memory when the inverted address signal is supplied to the memory, and computes amplitude value data corresponding to the address signal.
