An optical module is composed of a plurality of optical elements to emit or receive light rays having wavelengths different from each other, and a plurality of optical members arranged in correspondence with the plurality of optical elements respectively. The plurality of optical members each of which includes a mirror section to transmit a predetermined transmission band wavelength light ray while reflecting a predetermined reflection band wavelength light ray, and a lens section located opposite the corresponding optical element. The plurality of optical members are positioned and disposed in such a manner that the respective lens sections thereof collimate or converge the light rays to be emitted or received by the plurality of optical elements respectively, while the respective mirror sections thereof multiplex or demultiplex the light rays to be emitted or received by the plurality of optical elements respectively.

Optical module

A transmitter and receiver integrated optical sub-assembly includes a housing including a side wall structure and a bottom wall, a transmitter-side optical receptacle and a receiver-side optical receptacle attached to the side wall structure, a second circuit board inserted into the housing, laser diodes and photo diodes arranged on the bottom wall, a transmitter-side optical system that is disposed on the bottom wall and combines optical signals from the laser diodes, a receiver-side optical system that is disposed on the bottom wall and splits an optical signal from the receiver-side optical receptacle, a driver integrated circuit, and an amplifying integrated circuit. In the transmitter and receiver integrated optical sub-assembly, electrodes formed at the other end portion of the second circuit board are connected to the driver integrated circuit and the amplifying integrated circuit.

Transmitter and receiver integrated optical sub-assembly and optical module

An optical module includes a first circuit board, an optical sub-assembly, a first flexible printed circuit and a second flexible printed circuit. At first electrical connection terminals and a first electrical connector are provided on the first circuit board. The optical sub-assembly includes a second circuit board that includes second electrical connection terminals and a second electrical connector. The first flexible printed circuit is connected to the first electrical connection terminals and the second electrical connection terminals. The second flexible printed circuit is connected to the first and second electrical connectors. A high-speed electrical signal of 1 GHz or higher is transmitted between both the circuit boards through the first flexible printed circuit, and a power source signal and a low-speed electrical signal of 1 MHz or lower are transmitted between both the circuit boards through the second flexible printed circuit.

An optical communication module includes a plurality of semiconductor lasers that emit optical signals with different wavelengths, a multiplexing optical system including a plurality of optical filters used for multiplexing the optical signals, each of which has been emitted from a corresponding one of the plurality of semiconductor lasers, and a substrate on which the optical filters are provided, and a plurality of lenses, each of the lenses being joined to a corresponding one of the plurality of optical filters to condense or collimate an optical signal emitted from a corresponding one of the semiconductor lasers and thereby enable the light signal to enter the optical filter. The plurality of lenses are independent from one another and have a different linear expansion ratio from that of the substrate. Furthermore, the plurality of lenses are not in contact with a second mount on which the substrate is mounted.

Optical communication module

A jig for handling a CAN-package semiconductor laser having a semiconductor laser mounted on a pedestal, a cap which is put on one surface of the pedestal and covers the semiconductor laser, and a lead pin which is electrically connected to the semiconductor laser and protrudes from the other surface of the pedestal includes: a base part provided with a recessed part to which the pedestal is fitted; a terminal pad provided on a recessed-part bottom surface and being in contact with the lead pin; and a terminal pin electrically connected to the terminal pad and protruding from the base part.

Jig for CAN-package semiconductor laser

A multiplexing optical system in an optical transmitter module has first to third wavelength selective filters and a reflection mirror. The reflection mirror reflects a fourth optical signal to make it enter the first wavelength selective filter and reflects a third optical signal to make it enter the third wavelength selective filter. The third wavelength selective filter reflects a second optical signal to make it enter the second wavelength selective filter and transmits the third optical signal to make it enter the second wavelength selective filter. The first wavelength selective filter transmits a first optical signal to make it enter the second wavelength selective filter and reflects the fourth optical signal to make it enter the second wavelength selective filter. The second wavelength selective filter transmits the first and fourth optical signals and reflects the second and third optical signals to make them enter a lens.

Optical transmitter module

An optical communication module includes a plurality of semiconductor lasers that emit optical signals with different wavelengths, a plurality of first mounts each including a first mounting surface on which a corresponding one of the semiconductor lasers is mounted and a first side surface that intersects with the first mounting surface, a second mount including a second mounting surface on which a lens array that collimates an optical signal emitted from a corresponding one of the plurality of semiconductor lasers and a multiplexing optical system that multiplexes the plurality of optical signals that have been collimated by the lens array and a second side surface that intersects with the second mounting surface. Each of the first mounts is fixed to the second mount in a state where a corresponding one of the semiconductor lasers is aligned with the lens array and the first side surface abuts the second side surface.

Optical communication module and method for producing the same

A multi-channel optical receiver module, includes a light-receiving element array, the light-receiving element array including multiple light-receiving elements; an amplifier disposed adjacent the light-receiving element array, the amplifier amplifying an output of a light-receiving element; a wiring relay submount disposed adjacent the amplifier; two wires for carrying a differential signal and being wired in parallel to one another and being connected between the wiring relay submount and the amplifier; an output pin; and another wire, the another wire being connected between the output pin and the wiring relay submount.

Multi-channel optical receiver module

A latch structure according to an embodiment includes a cage having an engagement hole, a connector attachably and detachably held in the cage, the connector comprising a connector body having an almost rectangular parallelepiped shape and an insertion part to be inserted into the cage formed on an end surface of the connector body, a latch cover rockably installed in an upper surface of the connector body, being formed of a single plate material and having a cover body for covering the upper surface of the connector body, an engagement claw to engage with the engagement hole of the cage formed at an end portion of the latch cover, a spring member for always energizing the latch cover so that the engagement claw engages with the engagement hole, a rocking member formed in both sides of the cover body of the latch cover and formed by bending the plate material downward and a rocking groove formed in both side surfaces of the connector body for rockably engaging with the rocking member, wherein the rocking member is fitted to the rocking groove and the latch cover is rockably installed in the connector body.

A photoelectric conversion module includes a transmission side photoelectric conversion part for converting an electrical signal into an optical signal, a transmission side circuit board on which the transmission side photoelectric conversion part is mounted on a top surface side of the transmission side circuit board, a reception side photoelectric conversion part for converting an optical signal into an electrical signal, a reception side circuit board on which the reception side photoelectric conversion part is mounted on a top surface side of the reception side circuit board, and a housing. The transmission side circuit board and the reception side circuit board are placed such that a back surface of the transmission side circuit board is opposite to the housing and a back surface of the reception side circuit board is opposite to the housing.

Photoelectric conversion module

An optical transceiver includes a transmitting side photoelectric converter, a transmitting side circuit board, a receiving side photoelectric converter, a receiving side circuit board, a surface of the transmitting side circuit board being arranged to face a surface of the receiving side circuit board, a lens block disposed between the transmitting side circuit board and the receiving side circuit board, and optically connected to a transmitting side optical fiber and a receiving side optical fiber, and a frame body holding the lens block such that the lens block aligns with the transmitting side photoelectric converter and the receiving side photoelectric converter, and to fix the transmitting side circuit board and the receiving side circuit board at a predetermined distance from each other.

Optical transceiver with lens alignment frame

An optical component of an optical module has a junction surface facing an optical connector and a pair of side surfaces apart from each other in a direction perpendicular to a connection direction of the optical connector. A support member has a pair of sidewalls facing the side surfaces of the optical component respectively and concave/convex portions provided in the sidewalls and concave or convex toward the side surfaces of the optical component. The side surfaces of the optical component are fixed to the sidewalls of the support member via an adhesive, and the adhesive is also applied on surfaces of the concave/convex portions of the sidewalls.

A photoelectric conversion module includes a transmission side photoelectric conversion part for converting an electrical signal into an optical signal, a transmission side circuit board on which the transmission side photoelectric conversion part is mounted off-center to one side of the transmission side circuit board at one end of the transmission side circuit board, a reception side photoelectric conversion part for converting an optical signal into an electrical signal, and a reception side circuit board on which the reception side photoelectric conversion part is mounted off-center to one side of the reception side circuit board at one end of the reception side circuit board. A surface of the transmission side circuit board on which the transmission side photoelectric conversion part is mounted is opposite to a surface of the reception side circuit board on which the reception side photoelectric conversion part is mounted.

Photoelectric conversion module for optical communication

An optical communication module includes an optical package including at least one semiconductor optical device, an optical filter for reflecting light of a specific wavelength and transmitting light of an other wavelength, an optical block including a transparent material and the optical filter, a housing that houses the optical package and the optical block, an in-housing circuit board housed in the housing and mounting a peripheral electrical circuit for the optical package thereon, and an electrical connector electrically connected to the in-housing circuit board and exposed at a bottom surface of the housing. The optical block further includes a front lens portion at a front side face of the housing, a rear lens portion at a rear side face of the housing, a light inputting port, and a light outputting port. The optical filter is arranged to obliquely intersect with an optical axis passing through the front lens portion and the rear lens portion at a predetermined angle. The optical package is arranged such that an optical axis between the optical filter and the optical package is substantially orthogonal to an optical axis between the front lens portion and the optical filter.

Optical communication module and method for using the same

A high-speed transmission circuit board connection structure includes a first high-speed transmission circuit board including a laminated substrate including a first signal transmission wiring formed on a surface thereof and a ground plane formed inside thereof, a second high-speed transmission circuit board including a circuit substrate and a second signal transmission wiring formed on a surface of the circuit substrate, a conductive board connecting member for fixing the first and second high-speed transmission circuit boards to a surface thereof, and a bonding wire for electrically connecting the first signal transmission wiring and the second signal transmission wiring. The ground plane is exposed on a side end face of the laminated substrate, and a conductive film is formed on the side end face such that the ground plane of the first high-speed transmission circuit board is electrically connected to the board connecting member with the conductive film.
