The display device includes a display unit where a plurality of first pixels including subpixels of three colors and second pixels including subpixels of the three colors are alternately arrayed in row and column directions, an arrangement of the subpixels in the first pixel and an arrangement of the subpixels in the second pixel differing from each other, and a luminance allocation unit allocating luminance of a subpixel of a first color among the three colors in the first pixel to a subpixel of the first color in the second pixel adjacent to the first pixel with a predetermined ratio and allocating luminance of the subpixel of the first color in the second pixel to the subpixel of the first color in the first pixel adjacent to the second pixel with a predetermined ratio.

To provide a vertical alignment liquid crystal display device capable of achieving a high-definition image display. Tilt directions of liquid crystal molecules when a voltage is applied are within a plane that is in parallel to a border between a first pixel and a second pixel, and are different by 180 degrees between the first and second pixels. The first pixel is constituted with three sub-pixels for R, G, and B arranged in a direction in parallel to the border. Similarly, the second pixel is constituted with three sub-pixels for R, G, and B. The tilt directions of the liquid crystal molecules when a voltage is applied are different by 180 degrees from each other between the sub-pixels for R of the first and second pixels, between the sub-pixels for G of the first and second pixels, and between the sub-pixels for B of the first and second pixels.

There are provided a pixel array, an electro-optic device, and an electric apparatus. A pixel array includes plural pixels each having a rectangular shape and including a first-colored sub-pixel of a first color being the maximum in relative luminosity, a second-colored sub-pixel, and a third-colored sub-pixel of a third color being the minimum in relative luminosity. The third-colored sub-pixel is greater in size than each of the first-colored sub-pixel and the second-colored sub-pixel, and is arranged next to the first-colored sub-pixel and the second-colored sub-pixel. Provided is a display apparatus that compensates a drive transistor threshold to attain a highly precise structure. The display apparatus comprises a light emitting element including a first electrode, a second electrode and an organic light emitting layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a pixel circuit including a capacitor and a drive transistor letting current according to voltage of the capacitor flow in the light emitting element. The pixel circuit stops supply of current to the light emitting element while connecting the capacitor to the first electrode.

A display apparatus includes: pixels in a non-rectangular display region; a scan circuit outputting a scan signal; a data signal circuit outputting a data signal; a first wiring portion with a first signal to control the scan circuit; a second wiring portion with a second signal to control the data signal circuit; a first auxiliary wiring portion connecting the first wiring portion and the scan circuit; and a second auxiliary wiring portion connecting the second wiring portion and the data signal circuit. A display device includes: a display unit that includes a plurality of pixel circuits each including an organic light emitting element; a control unit that applies electric potential to the pixel circuits for a first period, and that controls emission luminance of the organic light emitting elements for a second period after the first period; and an application unit that applies a voltage of less than or equal to a threshold voltage of the organic light emitting element before a start of the second period in which the organic light emitting element has internal capacitance to maintain an electric potential difference between the anode electrode and the cathode electrode for a vertical scanning period in which a displayed image to be refreshed when the control unit controls the organic light emitting element not to emit light.

The mask has holes in a surface facing the linear source. Each hole has a first opening and a larger second opening located between the first opening and the linear source. &#x3b8;T&#x3c;90&#x2212;&#x3b8;M and SX&#x3e;D1&#xd7;tan &#x3b8;M are satisfied. D1 is a distance from the first opening to the electrode surface. &#x3b8;M is the largest incident angle in the first direction of the OLED material. SX is a distance in the first direction from an edge of the first opening to an adjacent sub-pixel electrode. &#x3b8;T is a taper angle defined by a line connecting the edge of the first opening and the edge of the second opening and the first direction.
