A data processing method, which is provided in an image processing system in which a server and a data processor communicate with each other to perform a predetermined data process, includes a step of extracting a feature amount of electronic data to be output from a printer, a step of transmitting original specifying information including the extracted feature amount and a user ID for discriminating a print requester of the electronic data, to the server, a step of controlling generation of print data to be output to the printer, based on original certification information notified by the server, and a step of causing the printer to print the generated print data and information indicating that the print data corresponds to an original. By this method, a large storage capacity is not required to certify one data, and to keep a secret of the stored electronic data is easy.

A timing signal generator includes a demodulator for an input modulated signal to provide first and second baseband signals having a quadrature relation relative to each other. A converter is used to convert the first and second baseband signals into angle data representing a phase, and a calculator is used to calculate a difference between the phase represented by current angle data and the phase represented by previous angle data, preceding the current angle data by a 1-symbol interval. The calculator outputs data representative of the calculated phase difference. A further converter converts the calculator output data into a binary reference signal responsive to which of predetermined divided regions contains a point corresponding to the calculated difference data. A clock signal generator produces a basic clock signal. A variable delay device is operative for delaying the basic clock signal by an adjustable interval and thereby converting the basic clock signal into a delay-resultant clock signal. A pseudo-noise code is generated at a timing depending on the delay-resultant clock signal. A spread-spectrum information signal is despread into a non-spread information signal in response to the pseudo-noise code. A correlator detects a correlation between the spread-spectrum information signal and the pseudo-noise code. The adjustable interval provided by the variable delay device is controlled in response to the detected correlation to provide synchronization between the spread-spectrum information signal and the pseudo-noise code.
