A vehicular headlight includes: a first light emitting element () that emits a first light (L); a second light emitting element () that emits a second light (L); a shade (); and a projection lens (), in which an upper surface of the shade () has a first reflection surface () that reflects another part of the first light (L) to the projection lens () side, and a lower surface of the shade has a second reflection surface () that reflects another part of the second light (L) to the projection lens () side, and a front end () of the shade () has a step () in an up and down direction corresponding to a shape of a cut line of a light distribution pattern of the low beam.

Vehicular headlight

A vehicular lamp includes a first light source that emits light for forming a first distribution pattern, a second light source that emits light for forming a second distribution pattern that is added to the first distribution pattern, and a light guide member disposed in front of the first light source. The light guide member includes a first incidence surface on which the light emitted from the first light source is incident, a total reflection surface by which a part of the light incident from the first incidence surface is totally reflected, and a first emission surface from which the light totally reflected by the total reflection surface is emitted toward the lamp front. A part of the light emitted from the second light source passes through the total reflection surface and the light guide member and is emitted from the first emission surface toward the lamp front.

Vehicular lamp

A vehicle lamp includes a projection lens, a first light source disposed behind the projection lens and configured to emit light forming a low-beam light distribution pattern which is a predetermined light distribution pattern, a reflector configured to reflect light emitted from the first light source toward a first rear focal point of the projection lens, and a second array light source disposed behind the projection lens and having a plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements arranged in at least one row. The second array light source is configured to emit light forming an additional light distribution pattern, and the center position or maximum light intensity position of the additional light distribution pattern overlaps with the low-beam light distribution pattern on a virtual vertical screen in front of the lamp.

Vehicle lamp

There is provided a vehicle lamp including a projection lens, a first light source arranged at a rear of the projection lens and configured to emit light for forming a predetermined light distribution pattern, a reflector configured to reflect the light emitted from the first light source towards the projection lens, a first array light source arranged at the rear of the projection lens and including a plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements aligned in at least one row, and a second array light source arranged at the rear of the projection lens and including a plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements aligned in at least one row. The first array light source and the second array light source are arranged in an upper-lower direction.

A lamp includes a plurality of light sources arranged in parallel, a projection lens through which light emitted from the plurality of light sources is transmitted, and a first inter-light source reflector and a second inter-light source reflector which are disposed so as to sandwich a line connecting the light sources adjacent to each other and which are configured to reflect a part of the light emitted from the light sources toward the projection lens.

A vehicle headlamp is provided. The vehicle headlamp includes a light source, an image forming section which forms a light image using light from the light source, and a projection lens which projects the light image. The image forming section includes a boundary shade and movable shades. Each of the movable shades is individually movable between a closed position at which the movable shade blocks a corresponding part of the light from entering the projection lens and an open position at which the movable shade allows the corresponding part of the light to enter the projection lens. The boundary shade is disposed to extend along distal ends of the respective movable shades that are arranged side by side when the movable shades are in the closed positions. When the movable shades are in the closed positions, the boundary shade forms a boundary line of the light image.

Vehicle headlamp

A vehicle headlamp includes a projection lens through which an optical axis passes. The optical axis extends in a front-and-rear direction of a vehicle. The vehicle headlamp includes a light source disposed on a rear side of a rear focal point of the projection lens; a reflector which reflects a direct light from the light source toward a front direction so as to become close to the optical axis; a shade disposed between the projection lens and the light source and having an edge portion positioned near the rear focal point of the projection lens; and an auxiliary reflector disposed between the projection lens and a shade. The auxiliary reflector reflects a part of the light reflected by the reflector toward the projection lens such that an upward irradiation light is irradiated from the projection lens. The shade shields a part of the light reflected by the reflector and a part of the direct light emitted from the light source and forms a cutoff line of a light distribution pattern. A space is provided between the auxiliary reflector and the shade so as to maintain a light quantity of at least 75% of a main light distribution obtained by the light reflected from the reflector.

A vehicle headlamp includes a light source bulb for emitting light, a base member fixed with a light source bulb, a reflector for reflecting light emitted from the light source bulb, a projecting lens for projecting light reflected by the reflector to a front side along an optical axis Ax, and a shade for blocking a portion of light directed from the reflector to the projecting lens. The vehicle headlamp displaces the reflector from a first position to a second position which is upward and rearward from the base member. The vehicle headlamp can facilitate obtaining a light distribution suitable for driving on a motorway or in wet conditions.

A light source is movable between a reference position located on an optical axis on the rear side of a rear side focal point of a projection lens and a forward shift position located on the forward side of the reference position. At a predetermined position of the reflecting surface of a reflector on the lower side of the optical axis, an auxiliary reflecting surface having a vertical section of substantially an elliptical shape is formed which has a first focal point set at the center of the light source at the forward shift position, and a second focal point set at the rear side focal point of the projection lens.

A vehicle headlamp, for projecting light forward along an optical axis extending in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, is provided with a light source, a first main reflector, a second main reflector, a shade, and a projection lens. The light source emits light. The first main reflector is arranged above the light source and reflects the light emitted from the light source toward the optical axis. The second main reflector is arranged below the light source and reflects the light emitted from the light source toward a direction different from the optical axis. The shade cuts a part of the light reflected by the first main reflector to form a cut-of line. The projection lens is arranged in front of the first main reflector and forward projects the light having passed the shade.

As the annular translucent member, an annular lens formed from a peripheral edge portion of a convex-meniscus lens is disposed between a projection lens and a reflector along an outer peripheral edge of the projection lens. Direct light from a light source toward a space beyond the outer periphery of the projection lens is caused to illuminate forward of the lamp by the annular lens, thereby effectively utilizing light source luminous flux. In relation to the above, a shape of a back surface of the annular lens is formed into a spherical surface having its center at a luminescence center of the light source. Accordingly, direct light from the light source can travel straight without being deflected by a back surface of the annular lens, whereby a light deflection angle on a front surface of the annular lens can be calculated easily and with good accuracy.

A pair of additional reflectors are disposed face to face under a light source. The reflective surfaces of the respective additional reflectors are formed of paraboloids of revolution, with the first focal point of the reflective surface of a reflector as a focal point, and with an optical axis as the central axis of the revolution. As a result, retroreflective light from both reflectors is incident on the upper reflective region of the reflector. Thus, the spreading of the retroreflective light can be reduced based on the enhanced efficiency of utilizing the luminous flux of the light source, to the extent of the presence of the retroreflective light, as compared with the related art structure, wherein a spherical reflective surface centering on the light source is provided.

A projection-type vehicular headlamp structure that is capable of forming at least two types of light distribution in at least two modes, and is also capable of controlling the radiated light thereof with high precision in addition to keeping to a minimum any noticeable difference when switching between modes. A portion of a reflector is structured as a mobile reflection portion which may separate from a remaining reflective portion. An additional reflector is disposed generally behind the mobile reflective portion. The additional reflector is incident to light from a light source when the mobile reflective portion is separated from the remaining reflective portion. Light incident from the mobile reflective portion, the remaining reflective portion, and the additional reflector is reflected forward to a projection lens of the vehicular headlamp, providing illumination in the area preceding a vehicle's traveling path.

Vehicular headlamp

A projection-type headlamp producing a low-beam light distribution pattern having a cut-off line and which provides improved visibility for the driver of the vehicle with a reduced possibility of inflicting glare on drivers of oncoming vehicles. A low-beam light distribution pattern is synthesized from a base light distribution pattern, formed by a projection-type lamp unit, and a pair of additional light distribution patterns, formed by light reflected from a pair of additional reflectors provided on right and left sides of a lamp unit body. The additional light distribution patterns are superimposed on a horizontal cut-off line having a level difference within the base light distribution pattern. The contrast between the area above the horizontal cut-off line and the area below the horizontal cut-off line is accordingly reduced.
