A money handling method includes: dispensing, by a money handling device, money stored in a storage unit in response to a request by a user, if a predetermined condition is satisfied; refilling, by a second device, the storage unit with money, if the money handling device is used by the user at the time of the start of refill by the second device; suspending the refill by the second device; and performing, by the second device, the suspended refill after the end of use of the money handling device by the user.

A settlement system includes a register having a reception unit that receives a manual input of information corresponding to at least a part of deposited money from a customer and a transmission unit that transmits a sum amount of money corresponding to the purchased product and manually input information manually input through the reception unit to a cash settlement device and the cash settlement device that calculates an amount of inserted money by recognizing and counting the inserted money, calculates a total amount of the money deposited from the customer by using the amount of the inserted money and the manually input information received from the register, calculates an amount of change based on the total amount of money and the sum amount of money received from the register, and dispenses change money.

A money handling apparatus includes a storage and feed unit that stores or feeds moneys, a transport unit that transports the moneys to the storage and feed unit or to outside of the apparatus, a deposit reject port that ejects a deposit reject money recognized as an improper money at the time of deposit processing so that it can be taken out from outside of the apparatus, and a transport control unit that controls the transport unit so that the moneys fed out by the storage and feed unit at the time of dispensing processing to the deposit reject port.
