A turbine includes a turbine wheel, a housing having a flow path for a gas, a variable geometry device to guide the gas from the flow path to the turbine wheel, and a biasing member. The variable geometry device includes one or more nozzle vane member, each having a nozzle vane, a nozzle shaft and a nozzle link plate. The biasing member is in contact with the nozzle link plate of the nozzle vane member.

A variable capacity turbocharger includes a turbine impeller, a gas inlet passage fluidly coupled to the turbine impeller, a nozzle vane located in the gas inlet passage, a drive assembly that rotates the nozzle vane, a drive chamber accommodating the drive assembly and including a region configured to store liquid in the drive chamber, and a liquid passage fluidly coupled with the drive chamber and configured to discharge the liquid from the drive chamber. A surface of the liquid passage has a greater surface roughness than the region of the drive chamber.

Variable capacity turbocharger

A cooling structure includes: a housing including an inner cylindrical portion through which a shaft is inserted; a coolant flow path formed in the housing and opened on one side of the housing in a rotational axis direction, the coolant flow path being located radially outside the inner cylindrical portion; a lid member disposed in an opening of the coolant flow path, the lid member located radially outside the inner cylindrical portion and adjacent to the coolant flow path; a first end portion on the lid member, the first end portion contacting, in the radial direction, an inner circumferential surface of the coolant flow path on one side in the radial direction; and a second end portion on the lid member, the second end portion contacting, in the rotational axis direction, an abutment surface on the housing on the other side in the radial direction.

Cooling structure and turbocharger

A variable-capacity turbocharger includes a nozzle flow passage in which a gas is capable of flowing therethrough from a scroll flow passage toward a turbine impeller, a connecting pin connecting flow passage wall surfaces forming the nozzle flow passage, and nozzle vanes arranged in a rotation direction of the turbine impeller. At least one of the flow passage wall surfaces includes an inner peripheral side wall surface extending radially inward of a first reference line extending in the rotation direction, an outer peripheral side wall surface which is a plane extending radially outward from a second reference line extending in the rotation direction and parallel to a plane orthogonal to rotation axes of the nozzle vanes, and an intermediate wall surface which is a plane extending from the first reference line to the second reference line and parallel to the plane extending orthogonal to the rotation axes of the nozzle vanes.

Variable-capacity turbocharger

Provided is a rotating body, including: a shaft; and a compressor impeller including: a main body having an insertion hole, which extends from one end to another end side and is configured to receive the shaft inserted therethrough; a boss portion formed at one end side of the main body; and a joint portion, which is formed on an inner peripheral surface of the insertion hole at the boss portion and is welded to the shaft.

Rotating body, turbocharger, and rotating body manufacturing method

A variable capacity turbocharger may include a turbine housing, a variable capacity mechanism, and a cover. The turbine housing may include a scroll flow path, a cylindrical portion having a shroud surface facing blades of a turbine impeller, and an exhaust gas outlet flow path. The variable capacity mechanism may be attached to the turbine housing and may include a first plate and a second plate facing each other, and a plurality of variable nozzle vanes disposed between the first plate and the second plate. The cover may be disposed outside the cylindrical portion in a radial direction to face the second plate in an axial direction and to form a part of the scroll flow path. The cover may be attached to the turbine housing such that a gap is formed between the cover and the second plate.

A seal structure includes a cylindrical outlet wall portion which forms an outlet passage at a downstream side of a turbine wheel and an annular shroud portion which is provided in a second nozzle ring and faces a blade portion. A proximal end portion of the outlet wall portion and a distal end portion of the shroud portion face each other with a gap interposed therebetween in an axial direction. An annular seal member is disposed at an inner peripheral portion of the gap in a radial direction. The seal member comes into contact with the proximal end portion of the outlet wall portion and the distal end portion of the shroud portion to block the gap.

Seal structure of variable nozzle unit, and variable capacity type turbocharger

A turbocharger includes a turbine housing configured to accommodate a turbine wheel provided at one end of a rotation shaft, a bearing housing joined to the turbine housing and in which a bearing for supporting the rotation shaft is provided; and a variable nozzle unit that is disposed between the turbine housing and the bearing housing. The variable nozzle unit includes a nozzle ring disposed around a rotation axis of the rotation shaft and a support ring provided adjacent to the nozzle ring that includes an outer peripheral portion partially in contact with the turbine housing. One or more non-contact portions are formed in the outer peripheral portion of the support ring and do not contact the turbine housing.

Turbocharger

Provided is a variable capacity turbocharger, including: a drive ring including a main body portion having an annular shape; a first projection portion and a second projection portion, which are formed on the main body portion, and are arranged apart from one another in a circumferential direction of the main body portion so as to sandwich a link plate to which a nozzle vane is mounted; and a cutout portion, which is formed in a portion of the main body portion between the first projection portion and the second projection portion.

Variable displacement turbocharger

Provided is a turbocharger, including: a turbine impeller (impeller); nozzle vanes provided on a radially outer side of the turbine impeller; a nozzle ring to which the nozzle vanes are provided; a heat-shielding member including: an outer contact portion, which is arranged between a back surface of the turbine impeller and a wall portion of a bearing housing (housing), and is brought into contact with the nozzle ring from a side opposite to the nozzle vanes; and an inner contact portion, which is at a position on an inner side in a radial direction of the shaft with respect to the outer contact portion, and is brought into contact with a wall portion of the bearing housing from the turbine impeller side; and a separation portion, which is formed on the wall portion of the bearing housing, and is recessed toward a side of separating from the heat-shielding member with respect to a contact portion to be brought into contact with the inner contact portion of the heat-shielding member.

A projecting portion is formed on a nozzle ring, projects to a radially outer side with respect to a cylindrical portion, extends in a circumferential direction, and is held in abutment against a housing from a side of a link plate. A plate is faced to the nozzle ring on a side of a nozzle vane, and is configured to form a flow passage in a clearance to the nozzle ring. A pin is inserted into a first insertion portion formed in the nozzle ring and a second insertion portion formed in the plate, and to which the nozzle ring and the plate are mounted while the clearance is maintained. A counter bore groove is formed in the first insertion portion of the nozzle ring on the side of the link plate, and cut out the projecting portion.

Provided is a mounting structure, including: an impeller including: a main body portion having a through hole; a plurality of blades provided to an outer peripheral surface of the main body portion; and a boss portion, which is a part of the main body portion, and protrudes toward one end side of the shaft with respect to the plurality of blades; a small-diameter portion, which is a part of the shaft; a first large-diameter portion, which is a part of the shaft, is located on another end side of the shaft with respect to the small-diameter portion; and a small-inner-diameter portion of the through hole, which is formed on a radially inner side of the boss portion, and has an inner diameter smaller than an inner diameter of a part of the through hole which is opposed to the first large-diameter portion in a radial direction.

Mounting structure and turbocharger

Provided is a nozzle drive mechanism, including: a bearing having a bearing hole; a drive shaft which is axially supported in the bearing hole so as to be rotatable; a drive lever including: an insertion portion into which another end portion (end portion) of the drive shaft protruding from the bearing hole is inserted; and a coupling portion, which is positioned on the bearing side with respect to a center of the drive shaft in an axial direction, and projects outward in a radial direction of the drive shaft from the insertion portion; a link pin coupled to the coupling portion; and a rod member, which is connected to the link pin, is positioned on a side opposite to the bearing with respect to the coupling portion, and is provided to an actuator.

A nozzle drive mechanism includes: a plurality of nozzle vanes; a plurality of link plates each fixed to a shaft portion of one of the plurality of nozzle vanes; a nozzle ring having an annular main body portion including shaft holes, each of which pivotally supporting a shaft portion of one of the nozzle vanes, the nozzle ring arranged between the link plates and the nozzle vanes; a regulation pin having one end attached to the main body portion of the nozzle ring and the other end protruding from an opposing surface of one of the link plates facing the nozzle ring; and a positioning pin provided separately from the regulation pin and assembled to a wall portion positioned opposite to the nozzle ring across the link plate at a position where the positioning pin is brought into contact when the nozzle ring rotates.
