To provide a video projector which improves visibility in response to changes in projection environment, a video projector has an initial level setter, a level adjuster, a projection display, an image capture, and a projection histogram calculator. The initial level setter performs a prescribed initial level setting on an input video signal and outputs an initial display signal. The level adjuster adjusts the level of the initial display signal on the basis of a projection image and outputs a display signal. The image capture captures the projection image projected on a projection surface by the projection display based on the display signal. The projection histogram calculator prepares a projection histogram for each color. The level adjuster adjusts the level of the initial display signal for each color on the basis of the projection histogram.

Video projector and video display method

A droplet ejection head includes head members, dummy members, a sealant, and elastic members. Each of the head members has a nozzle face where a plurality of nozzles for ejecting droplets are formed and an attaching face which is a back side face with respect to the nozzle face. Each of the dummy members has a dummy nozzle face and an attaching face which is a back side face with respect to the dummy nozzle face. The dummy members are placed at both end sides of the elongated substrate in the longitudinal direction so that second gaps between the outmost head members and the dummy members are formed. The sealant is filled in each of first gaps between the head members and the second gaps, bonds the head members and the dummy members with the outmost head members, and seals the first gaps and the second gaps.

Any air trapped in a connection portion between adjacent ones of flow passage plates of an ink jet recording head in manufacturing the head. The head comprises: a reservoir plate with a reservoir cavity for forming an ink reservoir; a chamber plate with a chamber cavity for forming a pressure generating chamber in which ink is pressurized; and, a first air passage and a second air passage, wherein the first and the second air passage have first groove portions and second groove portions thereof staggered in cross section, respectively, and formed them in opposite surfaces of the reservoir plate and those of the chamber plate, respectively, and disposed them in a peripheral portion of the ink reservoir and that of the pressure generating chamber, respectively, wherein: the reservoir and the chamber form essential parts of an ink flow passage; the groove portions are staggered in arrangement not to have their front ones aligned with their rear ones in cross section, wherein the front ones being communicated with the rear ones through through-holes, respectively; whereby the air trapped in the connection portion may flow in a zigzag course along these groove portions to escape to the atmosphere.

A disk-shaped throttle valve composed of an injection-molded resin having first main surface and a second main surface which are generally parallel includes a circular groove or semi-circular grooves centered on a gate resin portion where the resin is injected. The first main surface may also include a recess portion around the gate resin portion positioned such that the gate resin portion does not project beyond the first main surface. An accumulated resin portion may also be disposed on the second main surface opposite the gate resin portion, the accumulated resin portion being formed as a protrusion positioned such that an apex portion does not project beyond the second main surface.

The invention provides an apparatus and a method for forming the end surface of a coaxial composite member consisting of a cylindrical member and an axial member, in which the axial member is ground more readily than the cylindrical member, being capable of forming the end surface of the coaxial member into a convexed spherical mirror surface with high precision, without recession of the axial member from the formed spherical surface. The apparatus for forming the end surface of a coaxial composite member comprises a grinding table having a circularly recessed guide surface, a winding motor for running a grinding tape across the circularly recessed guide surface, a pressing member for pressing the coaxial composite member on the grinding tape to be then contacted with the circularly recessed guide surface, and a rotating motor for providing the coaxial composite member on the grinding tape with rotative movement on its axis and reciprocative movement in the direction orthogonal to the running direction of the grinding tape, wherein the recessed guide surface in provided with a recess or a member having lower hardness than that of the material for the recessed guide surface, on the median line thereof.

A surface polishing machine includes a polishing tool having a polishing tool face, a pressurizing member, placed on and movable in unison with a workpiece placed on the annular polishing tool, for pressurizing the workpiece toward the polishing tool, and a polishing-position retaining mechanism for holding the workpiece at a predetermined polishing position by preventing it from moving in unison with the polishing tool, while permitting it to rotate, as the polishing tool rotates. To reduce the overall size of the polishing machine and carry out highly accurate polishing, the polishing tool has its diameter larger than the diameter of the workpiece and smaller than twice the workpiece diameter. Alternatively, the polishing tool face is formed with an annular groove coaxially with the center of rotation of the polishing tool so that the annular groove extends to pass through the center of rotation of the workpiece placed on the polishing tool.

Surface polishing machine

A surface polishing apparatus which presses a work piece 12 into contact with the processing surface of a disk-shaped polishing tool 11 which is rotated and driven, to polish the surface of the work piece 12 as supplying abrasive slurry to the processing surface. The surface polishing apparatus includes an abrasive slurry-supply mechanism 13 which supplies abrasive slurry to the processing surface. The slurry supply mechanism is provided on the backward side of the work piece with respect to the rotation direction of the polishing tool. A method and an apparatus for providing an optical fiber connector or similar workpiece formed of, e.g., glass, ceramic or plastic with a mirror-finished convex tip efficiently is disclosed. While a film-like abrasive tool is conveyed in contact with the wall of a groove formed in a stage, the workpiece is caused to rotate about its axis (and to move in a reciprocating motion). By the resulting grinding operation, the sectional shape (arcuate) of the abrasive tool contacting the wall of the groove is transferred to the end of the workpiece. As a result, the end of the workpiece is provided with a convex tip. The abrasive tool is replaced with an abrasive tool for finishing, as needed.
