An audio-visual terminal and a viewing authentication system and control programs therefor are provided. The audio-visual terminal includes a reproducing part for reproducing the audio-visual program, a motion instructing part for instructing, a motion sensor for detecting a response motion of the viewer made by the viewer for transmission to a viewing authenticating principal, a sending part for sending information output from the audio-visual terminal to a viewing authentication system of the viewing authenticating principal, and a coding part for coding information about the response motion of the viewer obtained from a detection result detected by the motion sensor into a signal sendable by the sending part.

Provided herein are an answering terminal, an answer counting system and a question-and-answer session method, which do not force answerers to perform complicated operations of an answering terminal when one questioner and a multiplicity of answerers have a question-and-answer session. An audiovisual terminal, an audiovisual authentication system, a method of authenticating audiovisual education, a remote education method, and a recording medium readable with the audiovisual terminal, all suitable for authenticating the actual viewing of education programs, especially to authenticate the actual viewing in remote education. Through the audiovisual terminal, a viewer of an audiovisual program enters a confirmation code which is specific to the audiovisual program and is transmitted to a principal who authenticates viewing of the program, and time information corresponding to the viewing confirmation code. The time information corresponding to the viewing confirmation code is typically a time point at which the code is entered. It may also be a time interval calculated, for example, from the entering time. The audiovisual terminal confirms whether the viewer is actually viewing a remote education program. The time information is stored or transmitted in correspondence with a viewing confirmation code.

The present invention provides an optical parallel transmission system which can achieve reduction of the processing time without adding many processing functions. A pattern data adder adds, to transmission data, pattern data determined from the transmission data so that the transmission data per one bit becomes data having a form close to a repetition of &ldquo;1&rdquo;, &ldquo;0&rdquo;, and optical parallel transmission by AC coupling is realized thereby.
