A display control device includes: a circle setting unit that sets a reference circle that serves as the reference for a scale mark layout; a scale mark position determining unit that determines the position of a scale mark on the reference circle; a rectangle setting unit that sets a number display rectangle of the size corresponding to the number of digits of the indication number indicating the value corresponding to the scale mark; a rectangle position determining unit that determines the layout position of the number display rectangle from the position of the scale mark, using a calculating formula that has been set on the basis of the size of the reference circle and the size of the number display rectangle; and a number display unit that displays a number in the number display rectangle, and the calculating formula is designed so that, in a case where a straight line extending through the center of the reference circle on a display screen is set as a symmetrical axis, number display rectangles for displaying indication numbers indicating the values corresponding to scale marks disposed at positions symmetrical to each other are located at the same position as viewed from the direction of the symmetrical axis, and each number display rectangle is located at a layout position inscribed in the reference circle.

A vehicular navigation device for presenting a navigation content by continuing a predetermined inputting operation for navigation till the last step even if the used state changes. The navigation device comprises a presentation unit () for presenting a navigation content, a manual input unit () for receiving a plurality of inputting operations, a speech input unit () for receiving a speech input operation substantially identical to that of the manual input unit (), a database () stored with data necessary for navigation, and a control unit () for providing the navigation content to the presentation unit () by searching the database () according to the inputting operation from the manual input unit () or the speech input unit (). Depending on the used state of the navigation device (), the control unit () switches the active state between the manual input unit () and the speech input unit () so as to continue the predetermined navigation search operation to the last step thereby to present the navigation contents.

In the production of a tunneling probe tip having a sharp point by utilizing electropolishing, the present invention has enabled the production of a platinum tunneling probe tip always produceable in an identical conical form having high point sharpness without scattering in the shape caused by the anisotropy of crystal face with respect to the rate of polishing during polishing of a platinum material through adoption of a two-stage polishing process, which comprises subjecting a platinum tunneling probe tip material to a primary polishing for primary shaping of the tunneling probe tip material into a tunneling probe tip form, and then subjecting the shaped material to a secondary polishing for sharpening of the point with a mixed acid comprising sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and phosphoric acid.

Method of manufacturing a platinum tip

The invention relates to a method of making permanent magnets, especially rare-earth ion permanent magnets composed of compacted Fe-B-R type alloy particles. Accordingly, the method provides compacting the magnetic particles into a desired shape having voids between some of the compacted particles. The voids between the particles are filled with a sealing agent and the compact is further coated with either an organic coating or metallic coating.

Rare earth-iron magnet

A rare earth-iron permanent magnet is comprised of compacted Re-B-R type alloy particles in which R represents at least one element selected from rare earth elements and yttrium. The magnet has a sealing agent filling voids between the compacted Fe-B-R type alloy particles and a coating layer formed on outer surfaces thereof. The coating layer is formed by coating the surfaces wrought in a desired magnet shape.
