A fixing apparatus to fix a toner image to a printing material while nipping and conveying the printing material at a fixing nip includes a film, a guide member, a nip-forming member in a recess of the guide member, a roller, a support member, and a moving mechanism. The guide member in an inner space of the film guides film rotation. The roller is in contact with a film outer circumferential surface. The roller sandwiches the film with the nip-forming member to form the fixing nip. When disposed in the recess, the nip-forming member is movable in a direction parallel to a conveying direction of the printing material. The support member is fixed to an end of the nip-forming member in a longitudinal direction. The moving mechanism moves the support member relative to the guide member in the direction parallel to the conveying direction.

Fixing apparatus to fix a toner image to a printing material

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a conveying part configured to convey a medium in a conveying direction. A discharge head is configured to discharge a droplet onto a medium carried by the conveying part. A heating part is arranged at the downstream of the discharge head and configured to heat a medium while contacting with the medium attached with a droplet discharged by the discharge head. The heating part is arranged at a position contacting with at least part of the droplet present on the surface of the medium.

Liquid discharge apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit, a printing unit, and a heating unit provided on a downstream side with respect to the printing unit in the conveyance direction, and a control unit. The conveyance unit conveys a printing medium along a conveyance direction. The printing unit ejects ink onto the printing medium conveyed by the conveyance unit. The heating unit heats the printing medium on which ink has been ejected by the printing unit while being in contact therewith. Printing apparatus and control method

A fixing apparatus for fixing a toner image to a recording material includes a cylindrical film, a heater configured to make contact with the film, the heater including a substrate and a heat generation resistor formed on the substrate, and a heat conduction member configured to make contact with a surface of the heater opposite to a surface thereof being in contact with the film, the heat conduction member having a higher thermal conductivity than that of the substrate, and being divided into parts in a generatrix direction of the film. The toner image formed on the recording material is fixed on the recording material by using heat of the film, and one of the parts of the heat conduction member is configured to make contact with the heater continuously from a center to an end of a heat generation region of the heater in the generatrix direction.

Fixing apparatus for fixing a toner image to a recording medium

An image forming apparatus for forming a toner image on a recording material. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion to form the toner image on the recording material, and a fixing portion to fix, at a nip, the toner image on the recording material by feeding and heating the recording material on which the toner image is formed. The fixing portion includes a roller having an outer surface that has electroconductivity, a rotatable member that forms the nip and is in contact with the roller, and a casing having electroconductivity. An electrical insulating member is positioned (i) nearest to the outer surface of the roller, and (ii) between the inner surface of the casing and the outer surface of the roller. The electrical insulating member does not directly or indirectly contact the outer surface of the roller, and is provided with a water-absorbing member.

The heat-conductive member includes first and second parts at upstream and downstream ends, respectively, in a conveyance direction, and a third part between the first and second parts. The first to third parts are each held between the supporting member and the heater. A non-contact area between the heat-conductive member and the supporting member is provided between the first part and the second part in the conveyance direction. The heat-conductive member is shorter than the heater in the conveyance direction.

Fixing device

The image heating apparatus includes a tubular shaped film; a backup member configured to be brought into contact with an outer surface of the film; a heater having an elongated shape and being configured to be brought into contact with the film, the heater including a substrate and a heat generating resistor formed; a first heat conductive member having a higher thermal conductivity than the substrate and being configured to be brought into contact with a surface of the heater, the first heat conductive member including divided first heat conductive members arranged with a gap formed therebetween; a pinching member configured to pinch the first heat conductive member; and a second heat conductive member provided in a region of the gap so as to be brought into contact with both of the heater and the pinching member.

The image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member adapted to bear a toner image, a transfer belt configured to be movable, and a transfer device positioned across the transfer belt from the image bearing member and adapted to transfer the toner image from the image bearing member to the transfer belt. The transfer device includes a brush member equipped with a plurality of conductive filaments to be put into contact with the belt, wherein the plurality of conductive filaments located at an upstream end with respect to a moving direction of the transfer belt is cut along an orthogonal direction intersecting the moving direction of the transfer belt at right angles or the conductive filaments located at an upstream end of the brush member along the moving direction of the transfer belt are bonded together.

An image heating apparatus for heating a toner image formed on a recording material includes a first rotatable member contactable to the toner image; and a heating unit, including a second rotatable member rotating while contacting a surface of the first rotatable member, for heating the first rotatable member. The toner image on the recording material is heated by receiving heat from the first rotatable member heated by the heating unit. The image heating apparatus further includes a potential controller for maintaining a polarity of a surface potential of the second rotatable member so as to be opposite to a charge polarity of the toner.
