A sensor that includes a first film having a first main surface and a second main surface, the first film generating a charge according to a deformation amount of the first film; a first electrode on the first main surface; a second electrode on the second main surface; and a first fixing member and a second fixing member constructed to fix the first film, the first electrode, and the second electrode to an article. The first film is dimensioned to occupy an area equal to or more than half a peripheral surface of the article. The second electrode is located closer to the article than the first electrode. The first fixing member is separated from the second fixing member in an extending direction of the article.

Deformation sensor for string shape article

An input includes a first electrode and a first deformation portion. An output includes a second electrode and a second deformation portion. A transmission portion enables transmission of an elastic wave from the first deformation portion to the transmission portion and transmission of an elastic wave from the transmission portion to the second deformation portion. In operation, an input signal is input to the first electrode that deforms the first deformation portion to generate an elastic wave. The transmission portion transmits the elastic wave from the first deformation portion to the second deformation portion that is deformed by the elastic wave to generate an output signal to the second electrode. The detection unit detects a deformation amount from the reference state of the transmission portion based on the output signal.

A monitoring system for determining whether an object is touched by a living body includes a receiver and a piezoelectric sensor attached to a substrate such that when the substrate is attached to the object. The piezoelectric sensor generates an output signal as a function of whether the living body is in contact with at least one of the substrate and the object. A processor processes the output signal to determine whether the living body is in contact with at least one of the substrate and the object and outputs a contact information signal containing information indicative of whether the living body is in contact with at least one of the substrate and object based on the determination. A transmitter transmits the contact information signal to the receiver.

Monitoring system

An electronic device is provided that includes a flexible body, a stress sensor, and a detector. The stress sensor has a piezoelectric film that is deformed by a stress resulting from bending of the body. The stress sensor detects stresses that develop respectively at an end part and a central part of the body. When the end part and the central part are bent at the same radius of curvature, the stress sensor outputs output values such that a first output value based on a stress having developed at the end part is different from a second output value based on a stress having developed at the central part. Moreover, the detector detects at least one of the first output value and the second output value having exceeded a given threshold.

Electronic device

A display device includes a casing () an operation plate, a piezoelectric sensor, a controller, and a display. The piezoelectric sensor includes a piezoelectric film, an optically clear adhesive, a plurality of first electrodes, a plurality of first wiring lines, a plurality of second electrodes, a second wiring line, a pair of substrates and a reception circuit. The piezoelectric sensor is bonded to a surface of the operation plate on a side opposite to an operation surface. The region is provided between the second electrodes when the first surface is viewed from the front.

A touch input device that includes a housing; a touch detecting sensor having a piezoelectric film; a holding member; an interlayer pressure-sensitive adhesive that fixes the touch detecting sensor to the holding member; and a fixing adhesive that fixes the holding member to the housing. The interlayer pressure-sensitive adhesive has a large Young's modulus at lower temperatures and a small Young's modulus at higher temperatures. The fixing adhesive has a large Young's modulus at lower temperatures and a small Young's modulus at higher temperatures.

Press detecting device

A touch panel that includes a housing defining an opening and a piezoelectric film covering the opening. The opening has a shape whose lengths in an X direction and a Y direction are different. The piezoelectric film is stretched in a uniaxial direction, and is aligned such that the uniaxial direction forms an angle of 45 degrees with respect to the X direction and the Y direction.
