A power tool () includes an electric motor () as a drive source and a start switch () that starts the electric motor () and is lockable in an ON position in a lock-ON state. An electromagnetic actuator () pushes out or pulls in an actuation pin () with respect to a body of the electromagnetic actuator () in response to cutting off of a supply of electrical current to the power tool (). The pushed-out or pulled-in actuation pin, directly or indirectly, disengages the start switch () from the lock-ON state and/or prevents the start switch () from being shifted into the lock-ON state.

In a rack and pinion mechanism, a driving-side pinion gearand a driven-side pinion gearare provided to be coaxially rotatable relative to each other within a predetermined angle range. Because of this construction, in a case where a time when a driverreaches an advancing end position and contacts an advancing end damperdeviates from a time when a weight devicereaches a retracting end position and contacts a moving end damper, an excessive external force is not applied to engaging teethandby relative rotation of the pinion gearsand. Thus, due to this construction, durability of the rack and pinion mechanism, where end impacts are absorbed through elastic deformation, is improved.

An air compressor includes an internal combustion engine for driving an air compressing part that generates compressed air, which is stored in an air-storage tank. At a point in time when the air pressure inside the air-storage tank has increased to a first set pressure, the supply of fuel to the engine is cut off, thereby stopping the engine and the combustion of fuel. At a point in time when the air pressure inside the air-storage tank has decreased from the first set pressure to a second set pressure, a starter motor is started up to resume the operation of the engine.

A technique for improving the cooling performance of a combustion chamber in a combustion power tool is provided. The combustion power tool includes first and second combustion chambers, a partition that separates the first combustion chamber from the second combustion chamber, openings, formed in the partition and communicate the first combustion chamber with the second combustion chamber, and a drive section that moves toward a front end by combustion pressure. The combustion pressure is generated when a flow of flammable gas, which is produced by combustion of the flammable gas in the first combustion chamber propagates to the second combustion chamber through the openings, and burns flammable gas in the second combustion chamber. The combustion gas flows from the first combustion chamber to the second combustion chamber in a direction around a central axis of the second combustion chamber while flowing along an inner wall of the second combustion chamber.

A drive tool includes an ejector, a press member, a press detection switch, an operation member, an operation detection switch, a control unit, an operation state detector, and a report unit. The control unit makes the ejector carry out ejection of a fastening tool when the press detection switch and the operation detection switch are turned on. The operation state detector detects a case where the drive tool comes into one of a plurality of kinds of preset operation states which include at least one operation state other than a state of a battery. Report patterns different for each of the plurality of kinds of operation states are set in the report unit. When one of the operation states is detected by the operation state detector, the report unit reports the detection using the report pattern set corresponding to the detected operation state.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a combustion power tool having a rational construction. A representative combustion power tool according to the invention may include a combustion chamber, a fuel supplier to supply fuel into the combustion chamber, an igniter disposed in the combustion chamber, a driving mechanism actuated to perform a predetermined operation by utilizing a combustion pressure generated when the fuel is burned in the combustion chamber and an actuator that operates the fuel supplier and the igniter in one operation. Based on the operation of the actuator, fuel is supplied into the combustion chamber via the fuel supplier and the igniter performs ignition in relation to the pressure of the fuel supplied into the combustion chamber changes. According to the invention, because the fuel supplying and ignition can be done by the actuator in one operation, ignition can be performed in constant timing after fuel is supplied via the fuel supplying means. As a result, the operability can be improved and stable combustion can be always achieved.

A combustion power tool having a first combustion chamber, a second combustion chamber, an igniter, a partition, and a driving mechanism. Flammable gas is introduced or charged into the first and second combustion chamber. The igniter is disposed in the first combustion chamber. The partition separates the first combustion chamber from the second combustion chamber. Communication holes are formed in the partition at different angles with respect to the longitudinal direction of the first combustion chamber. The communication holes communicate the first combustion chamber with the second combustion chamber. The driving mechanism performs a predetermined processing work by utilizing an explosive combustion pressure. The combustion pressure is generated when flammable gas in the first combustion chamber is explosively burned by the igniter and when the burning front of the flammable gas in the first combustion chamber propagates to the second combustion chamber via the communication holes of the partition thereby explosively burning flammable gas in the second combustion chamber.
