The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method that can produce, with high yield or high selectivity isobutylene by means of isobutanol dehydration-reaction. An isobutylene production method of a first embodiment of the present invention is a method for producing isobutylene by means of isobutanol dehydration-reaction, wherein isobutanol is reacted using a catalyst for which the BET specific surface area is within the range of 60 m/g-175 m/g, and the reaction is carried out under a reaction pressure of 50 kPa-750 kPa as the absolute pressure. An isobutylene production method of a second embodiment of the present invention includes: using a catalyst which is filled into a reaction chamber and for which the particle diameters of at least 90 mass % of the catalyst are within the range of 700 &#x3bc;m-1000 &#x3bc;m; setting the isobutanol concentration within a supplied reaction gas to 30 vol %-85 vol %; setting the weight hourly velocity (WHSV) of the isobutanol to 0.175 h&#x2dc;20 h; and reacting isobutanol under a reaction pressure of 50 kPa-750 kPa as the absolute pressure.

Method for producing isobutylene from isobutanol

Provided is a method for producing isobutylene with a high selectivity by a dehydration reaction of isobutanol. There are provided a method for producing isobutylene by dehydration of isobutanol, in which the dehydration of isobutanol is performed in a state where at least one of an organic acid and an organic acid ester is present in a reaction system, and methods for producing methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate from the obtained isobutylene.

The invention relates to a method for producing acrylonitrile which includes a vapor phase catalytic ammoxidation process of performing vapor phase catalytic ammoxidation by bringing a source gas containing propylene, molecular oxygen, and ammonia into contact with a fluidized bed catalyst to obtain acrylonitrile. The method is characterized in that the fluidized bed catalyst is a catalyst containing molybdenum and bismuth and the vapor phase catalytic ammoxidation process is performed while maintaining an adsorbed amount of ammonia per specific surface area (m/g) of the fluidized bed catalyst in the range of 0.05 to 0.6 &#x3bc;mol/m. According to the method for producing acrylonitrile of the invention, it is possible to stably maintain a high acrylonitrile yield over a long period of time.

Method for producing acrylonitrile

The invention relates to a method for producing acrylonitrile which includes a vapor phase catalytic ammoxidation process of performing vapor phase catalytic ammoxidation by bringing a source gas containing propylene, molecular oxygen, and ammonia into contact with a fluidized bed catalyst to obtain acrylonitrile. Catalyst for producing acrylonitrile and process for producing acrylonitrile

A catalyst for synthesizing acrylonitrile that enables acrylonitrile to be synthesized at high yield, and a process for producing acrylonitrile using that catalyst, are provided. An ammoxidation catalyst comprising a molybdenum (component (1)), bismuth (component (2)), at least one element selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, zinc, magnesium, manganese and copper (component (3)) and at least one element selected from the group consisting of lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium and neodymium (component (4)), over which an organic compound is subject to ammoxidation which is a composite oxide fluid bed catalyst, is prepared by i) preparing a first solution that comprises at least a portion of component (1), at least a portion of component (2), and at least a portion of component (3) but none of component (4); ii) preparing a second solution by adding a solution of component (4) to the first solution; and iii) drying the second solution obtained and calcining the solid matter obtained from the drying step.
