A surface protection composition which is hard to deform or flow even placed under environments of a large temperature change with an external physical load such as pressure, and which stably protects a metal surface. A terminal fitted electric wire coated with the composition. The surface protection composition contains a high-consistency material (A) containing a lubricant base oil and an amide compound, and a phosphorus composition (B). The phosphorus composition (B) contains a composition (b1) containing one or more compounds represented by the general formulae (1) and (2) and one or more metals and/or one or more amines. The phosphorus composition (B) also contains one or more compounds (b2) represented by the general formula (3).

An anticorrosive agent including: a high-consistency material having a lubricant base oil and an amide compound, a composition of a phosphorus compound comprising one or more compounds represented by the general formulae (1) and (2) and a metal, and at least one kind of resin selected from a rosin-based resin, a terpene resin, a terpene phenol resin, a phenol resin, a coumarone-indene resin, and a petroleum resin, wherein a mass ratio of the high-consistency material and the composition is within a range of 50:50 to 98:2, and a content of resin is 2 to 20 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the total of the high-consistency material and the composition.

A metal surface coating composition and a terminal-fitted electric wire which is anti-corrosion treated with the composition are provided. The composition includes a high-consistency material containing a lubricant base oil and an amide compound, a composition of a phosphorus compound containing one or more compounds represented by the below formulae and a metal, and a nucleating agent:  where Xto Xeach represent an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, Rto Reach represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, among which at least one is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and Rto Reach represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms among which at least one is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms.

The present invention provides a lubricating base oil comprising saturated components of 90% by mass or greater, wherein the proportion of cyclic saturated components among the saturated components is not greater than 40% by mass, and by having a viscosity index of 110 or higher and an iodine value of not greater than 2.5. The lubricating base oil of the invention exhibits excellent viscosity-temperature characteristics and heat and oxidation stability while also allowing additives to exhibit a higher level of function when additives are included. The lubricating base oil of the invention is suitable for use in various lubricating oil fields, and is especially useful for reducing energy loss and achieving energy savings in devices in which the lubricating base oil is applied.

Lube base oil, process for production thereof, and lubricating oil composition

The present invention provides a low ash engine oil composition which, despite the low ash content, has engine detergency which enables the composition to pass severe detergency tests for diesel engine oils. The engine oil composition contains 0.6 percent by mass or less of a sulfated ash and comprises a low ash engine oil composition with a sulfated ash content of 0.6 percent by mass or less, which comprises: a lubricating base oil with a % Cof 2 or less, a kinematic viscosity at 40&#xb0; C. of 25 mm/s or less and a viscosity index of 120 or greater; a viscosity index improver contained in such an amount that the viscosity index of the composition will be 160 or greater; (A) a metallic detergent with a metal ratio of 3 or less; and/or (B) a sulfur-free phosphorus compound.
