An imaging system in a hospital includes plural diagnostic units each having a picture filing memory in which medical picture data of patients are stored. The memories are located in the diagnostic units at dispersed locations in the hospital. Each diagnostic unit includes a retrieval unit by which image data can be retrieved from the respective memory. A network interconnects the diagnostic unit and permits transmission of image data among the diagnostic units.

Image data management system particularly for use in a hospital

An X-ray imaging system wherein serial frame images are stored in the image memories. Memory selection of image memories is controlled by a microcomputer in accordance with the number of frame images and an interval between R-waves of an electrocardiogram signal of a subject detected by phase detector. By such a system, each serial frame the image read out from image memories in accordance with an address signal supplied by address generator can be displayed by a TV monitor in the same period.

Method and system for displaying serial images

A picture archiving communication system for storing, transferring various digital image data in a single or a plurality of hospitals includes a modality, a data base, a workstation as a display unit, and a network for connecting these components. The modality includes various diagnosis apparatuses for generating medical digital images, such as a film digitizer, an angiography apparatus, a CT scanner, an MRI system, a nuclear medicine diagnosis apparatus, an ultrasound diagnosis apparatus, and an electric endoscope. An examination ordering system is connected to the network. The workstation outputs computer-aided diagnosis data obtained by analyzing medical image data by means of a computer. This computer-aided diagnosis data includes the location, the type, and the degree of abnormality. In order to alarm an abnormality, the workstation displays a marker pointing the portion of the abnormal portion on the image, a text sentence representing the details of the abnormality. The computer-aided diagnosis data is obtained before its output is requested. The computer-aided diagnosis data is stored in a semiconductor memory until its output is requested.

Computer-aided diagnosis system for medical use

An optical image processing method and system in a radiographic system, wherein an image of an object is produced by an image intensifier and converted to video signal by a television (TV) camera system. A liquid crystal display (LCD) is placed bewteen the image intensifier and the T.V. camera system at a location shifted from a focal plane of the T.V. camera system. The liquid crystal display defines plural pixels which are controllable so that light produced by the image intensifier and impinging on the plural LCD pixels can be selectively attenuated by application of selected control signals to the LCD. Control signals are generated selectively based on predetermined parameters of the radiographic system and the image. These control signals are applied to the LCD to perform selective attenuation and corresponding dynamic range compression of light passing through respective LCD pixels, thereby to perform unsharp masking of the image produced by the image intensifier using the LCD.

Linear photo sensing device

A database system is provided in a network system capable of exchanging medical data, including at least image data and key data associated therewith, and can store and retrieve the medical data via the network system. The database system has first and second data file devices and a file management device. The first data file device stores image data supplied via the network system in a first rewritable storage. The second data file device stores image data transferred from the first storage in a non-rewritable second storage. The file management device has an index data storage for storing the key data, supplied via the network system, and memory addresses of image data, which correspond to the key data, on the first and second storages in correspondence with each other, and manages storing and reading of the image data in and from the first and second data file devices.

Database system

An endoscope apparatus for producing a video signal by inserting an insertion portion in a body cavity of a patient and photographing a portion to be examined and for producing image information for medical diagnosis according to the video signal includes an adding memory, a position error detector, controllers, and a display. The memory sequentially adds and superposes succeeding image information signals constituting the video signal. The detector sequentially compares the adjacent image information signals on a time basis, and detects the position error information between the image information signals of at least portions of identical image area. The controllers cause the memory to start sequential additions in response to an external freeze instruction, and inhibit the sequential additions in response to a detection signal from the detector. The image information signals stored in the memory are displayed on the display.

Endoscope apparatus

An X-ray diagnostic apparatus comprising an X-ray source for irradiating X rays to a patient, an image intensifier tube for converting an X-ray image, formed by transmitting X rays through the patient to an optical image, a television camera for receiving the optical image from the image intensifier tube through a diaphragm to output the video signal. In this pick-up apparatus, the X-ray source pre-irradiates one time a small dose of X-rays before main irradiation and there are provided a detector for detecting the maximum value of the video signal produced from the camera at the time of pre-irradiation, and an arithmetic operation circuit for calculating a diaphragm value from the maximum value detected and from pick-up conditions except a diaphragm value at the time of main irradiation of X rays in such a way that the maximum value of the video signal from the camera at the time of main irradiation becomes equal to the maximum permissible value of the camera.

In an X-ray television diagnostic apparatus, the blanking operation of the grid control circuit for the image intensifier and also the scanning operation of the television camera are interrupted during the projection of pulsatory X-rays from the X-ray tube, and at least the blanking operation for the image intensifier commences immediately after the projection of the pulsatory X-rays is accomplished.
