In a droplet ejecting apparatus, a detection pattern output unit drives a droplet ejecting head based on a pulse signal and image information of a detection pattern comprising plural unit patterns so as to form an image of the detection pattern on a recording medium. A correction information generating unit derives a distance between adjacent unit patterns based on the image of a read detection pattern, compares the distance with a distance according to the conveyance velocity of the recording medium by a moving unit, and generates correction information so as to enlarge the pulse width when the derived distance is shorter, and to reduce the pulse width when the derived distance is longer.

The present invention provides a waveform data-processing device. This waveform data-processing device is equipped with a generation component and a sequencing component. The generation component, on the basis of each of a plurality of waveforms which are specified by respective durations and amplitudes, generates a plurality of waveform data sets. Ink droplets placement errors in a subsidiary scanning direction of recording head units of a recording head array are obtained based on a result identified by reading a test chart for adjusting head alignment for detecting the errors, and it is then determined as to whether or not the errors identified is in a prescribed tolerance level (i.e., whether or not the printing result is good). In the case where it is judged that the printing result is not good, adjustment of alignment is carried out based on the errors identified. That is, the ink discharging timing of the recording head units is controlled per the period of the printing pulses, and the ink discharging timing of the recording head units is then controlled per the period of the controlling pulses.

A recording apparatus contains a recording head having a liquid droplet ejecting surface and ejecting a liquid droplet to a recording medium, a maintenance device disposed at a position opposite to the liquid droplet ejecting surface of the recording head, and a conveying unit which conveys the recording medium between the recording head and the maintenance device. The maintenance device has a liquid housing unit which houses the liquid droplet from the recording head, and a cleaning unit which cleans the liquid droplet ejecting surface of the recording head.

In a coding system, when any of the prediction results of pixel value prediction sections 20 and 21 matches an object pixel, a coding section 50 codes an identifier of the pixel value prediction section whose prediction result matches the object pixel. When none of the results match the object pixel, the coding section 50 codes a prediction error of a prediction error calculation section 30. A decoding system decodes code to an identifier or prediction error and outputs pixel data from the corresponding pixel value prediction section based on the identifier or takes out pixel data from a prediction error addition section 31 based on the predication error.

Variable-length code decoder

A variable-length code decoder includes plural barrel shifters, each of which executes shift processing on inputted variable-length code data bit by bit from the 0 bit to (the bit number of a maximum length codeword -1). The barrel shifters, which are in number equal to the bit number of the maximum length codeword, are arranged in parallel connection. Plural storing devices are provided, each of which stores a pair of a decoded symbol and codeword length thereof corresponding to code data. Plural fetching devices are provided, each of which fetches the pair of the decoded symbol and the codeword length thereof in accordance with the code data outputted from each of the barrel shifters. Each of the fetching devices is connected to a respective barrel shifter and storing devices. A selecting device is provided for selecting a predetermined pair from plural pairs of the decoded symbol and the codeword length fetched by the plural fetching devices in an initial decoding process. The selecting device further selects any one pair from the plural pairs of the decoded symbol and the codeword length utilizing the codeword length selected in the initial decoding process in subsequent decoding processes.
