A dual-bearing reel includes a reel unit, a handle shaft, a one-way clutch, a drag mechanism, a drag regulation member, a handle, a spool, and a rotation transmission mechanism. The one-way clutch including an outer race being attached to the reel unit, where the outer race being not rotatable to the reel unit, an inner race unitarily and rotatably coupled to the handle shaft, and rollers disposed between the outer race and the inner race. The drag mechanism includes a drag washer unitarily and rotatably coupled to the handle shaft. The handle disposed between the drag regulation member and the reel unit, and includes a through hole. The handle shaft penetrates in the through hole, and is unitarily and rotatably coupled to the inner race around the through hole. The spool is rotatably attached to the reel unit.

A handle assembly has a handle arm mounted to a fore-end of a handle shaft, a handle grip rotatively mounted to one end of the handle arm, and a rotation support portion made of a metal for rotatively mounting the handle grip to handle arm. The handle grip is a substantially egg-shaped member made of a synthetic resin, and is rotatively provided on the outward side of the rotation support portion. The handle grip is shaped such that the user can grip the whole of the handle grip with his palm. The handle grip also has first through fourth recesses such that the user can grasp the handle grip by attaching the thumb to the third recess, or pinch the handle grip between the thumb and fingertips by placing the thumb and index finger in the first and second recesses. Accordingly, it is possible to conduct high-speed winding easily.

Braking device for dual-bearing reel

A handle structure for a dual-bearing reel, which is rotatably mounted on the reel unit of a dual-bearing reel and is attached to the distal end of a handle shaft provided with a drag mechanism, includes a seat plate, a fixing component for fixing the seat plate, and a handle unit. The seat plate has a periphery and is non-rotatably stopped at the distal end of the handle shaft. The fixing component is provided to the distal end of the handle shaft and fixes the seat plate such that it cannot move in the axial direction with respect to the handle shaft. The handle unit is non-rotatably stopped at the seat plate. The handle unit has a surface adjacent the reel unit and includes a housing component for housing and covering the distal end of the handle shaft.
