This display device is provided with a display unit and a control unit. The display unit projects and reflects, onto a light-transmitting display medium, light expressing an image, to allow the image to be viewed, as a virtual image, by a user. The control unit performs first stereoscopic display processing for causing light respectively expressing a left-eye image and a right-eye image of an object to be displayed, to be projected in the display unit. As a result of this processing, the object to be displayed can be stereoscopically viewed in a three-dimensional image space by the user.

Display device and display method

A display device includes a video element and a parallax optical element. The video element projects, onto a windshield, a stereoscopic vision image in which a plurality of rectangular left-eye images and a plurality of rectangular right-eye images are alternately arrayed in a first array pattern. The parallax optical element is provided between the video element and the windshield and includes a plurality of separation parts arrayed in a lattice-like fashion and in a second array pattern; the separation parts separating the stereoscopic vision image into the left-eye images and the right-eye images. At least one of the first array pattern and the second array pattern is a nonuniform array pattern that conforms to a curved surface of the windshield.

Display device

This display device is provided with a display unit and a connection unit. The display unit reflects a naked-eye-stereoscopic display image onto a glass windshield. The correction unit corrects, in accordance with correction patterns corresponding to the curved shape of the glass windshield, the image to be displayed includes a left-eye image and a right-eye image. The image to be displayed includes a left-eye image and a right-eye image. The correction patterns include: a first pattern for correcting the left-eye image: and a second pattern for correcting the right-eye image.

This display device is provided with a display unit, a beam splitter, and a first mirror. The display unit emits a first image and a second image. The beam splitter has, incident thereon, the first image and the second image which are emitted from the display unit. The beam splitter transmits the incident first image and reflects the incident second image to project the first image and the second image on a display medium. The first mirror has, incident thereon, the first image which has been transmitted through the beam splitter. The first mirror reflects the incident first image to project the first image on the display medium.

Display device, and display method therefor

A display device including a pattern generator configured to generate a diffraction pattern from an image; a light source configured to emit emission light; an optical condenser which condenses the emission light to generate illumination light; and a spatial light modulator which diffracts the illumination light according to the diffraction pattern to generate diffracted light. The diffracted light passes through the optical condenser.

Display device using computer generated hologram

An image display apparatus, including: a light source which emits coherent light; a spatial modulation element which diffracts the coherent light by displaying a diffraction grating pattern corresponding to an input image and which displays a virtual image by the diffracted light; and a control unit which calculates a total brightness representing a sum total of brightnesses of all pixels of the input image, and controls at least one of the light source and the spatial modulation element in such a manner that, if the total brightness has decreased, the virtual image is displayed at a lower brightness than a reference virtual image displayed when the input image is used directly.

Image display apparatus

An image display device includes a light source which emits light, a display element which receives the light, from the light source for generating display light, a light guiding plate which causes the display light to propagate therein, an incident element which allows the display light from the display element to be incident into the light guiding plate, and a dynamic output diffraction element provided in the light guiding plate for outputting the display light to the outside of the light guiding plate. The dynamic output diffraction element includes dynamic diffraction segment elements configured such that a diffraction function of diffracting light is invalidated or validated by voltage application. The image display device further includes a control unit which controls the dynamic output diffraction element such that one dynamic diffraction segment element whose diffraction function is validated is selected each at a time from among the dynamic diffraction segment elements.

Image display device

A display device includes a light source which outputs laser light, an illumination optical system which emits the laser light as illumination light, a spatial modulation element which diffracts the illumination light by displaying a diffraction pattern, a diffraction pattern acquiring unit which acquires a basic diffraction pattern generated based on an image, and a diffraction pattern process unit which uses the basic diffraction pattern and a correction diffraction pattern for correcting the basic diffraction pattern to generate, as the diffraction pattern to be displayed on the spatial modulation element, a combined diffraction pattern obtained by correcting the basic diffraction pattern by the correction diffraction pattern. The spatial modulation element displays diffracted light, which is diffracted by displaying the combined diffraction pattern, to a user as a fictive image.

Display device and display system

The present application discloses a see-through display device a light source configured to emit light, a projection optical system configured to project image light generated from the light; a transmissive hologram including a first surface which the image light enters from the projection optical system; and an interface configured to cause Fresnel reflection of the image light deflected by the hologram. The hologram includes a first interference fringe recorded by object light and reference light which are incident on the first surface by means of two-light flux interference. The image light incident on the first surface is deflected by the first interference fringe toward the interface. The interface reflects the image light toward the first surface.

See-through display device and vehicle having see-through display device mounted thereon

A display device includes: a light source; an illumination optical system; a diffraction pattern generation unit; a spatial modulation element that generates diffracted light; and a shielding unit that selectively enters a first state where a first and second partial areas are a transmitting and shielding areas, respectively, and a second state where the first and second partial areas are the shielding and transmitting areas, respectively. The spatial modulation element displays the fictive image on a first and second display areas corresponding to the first and second partial areas when the shielding unit is in the first and second states, respectively. The diffraction pattern generation unit generates a first and second portion diffraction patterns from an image in an area corresponding to the first and second display areas out of the original image when the shielding unit is in the first and second states, respectively.

Computer generated hologram type display device

A display device () includes: a light source () that outputs a laser beam; an illumination optical system () that emits illumination light of the laser beam; a diffraction pattern generation unit that generates a diffraction pattern from original image data; a spatial modulation element () that diffracts the illumination light by displaying the diffraction pattern; and a display control unit that performs at least one of a change in a display timing of a diffraction pattern the spatial modulation element () displays and a change in a size of a diffraction pattern the diffraction pattern generation unit generates.

There is provided a laser projector, including: a laser source section for emitting laser beams; a spatial light modulator which modulates the laser beams to generate image light; a projector lens from which the image light is emitted; a beam shaper which shapes the laser beams into a shape of the spatial light modulator; and a pupil uniformizer which makes a light intensity distribution uniform at an exit pupil of the projector lens, wherein the pupil uniformizer is situated between the laser source section and the beam shaper.

Laser projector

A transmissive display device includes: a light source which outputs light; a display part which receives the light from the light source and generates display light representing an image; a deflecting element which changes a direction of the display light emitted from the display part; and a transmissive reflector which reflects, towards a user, light of a wavelength included in the display light emitted from the display part, and transmits light of other wavelengths. An angle formed by a straight line, which extends between an upper edge of an incident area of the display light on the transmissive reflector and a lower portion of an eyebox which is defined as a visible range of the reflected light from the transmissive reflector, with respect to a horizontal line is smaller than a difference between an emission angle and an incident angle of the display light at the transmissive reflector.

Transmissive display device

A transmissive display apparatus includes a transparent display panel, a display unit which projects a display light toward a display area of the transparent display panel, a ratio change unit which is provided to the display area, is configured to be capable of changing a light transmittance, and is configured to be capable of changing a ratio of a light quantity of a rear face reflected light reaching a viewpoint relative to a light quantity of a front face reflected light reaching the viewpoint, and a control unit which alternately switches the ratio change unit between a first state and a second state. The ratio change unit lowers, in the first state, the ratio by reducing the light quantity of the rear face reflected light that reaches the viewpoint in comparison to the second state. The light transmittance increases in the second state in comparison to the first state.
