A data processing apparatus has an input unit for entering operator data and commands, and a display unit for displaying a work area for data processing. The display unit opens a job menu window for displaying types of selectable jobs by icons at a center of a display screen when the operator needs to select a new job.

Menu presentation method and data processing apparatus

A thermal transfer printer has a platen and a thermal head between which are pinched a transfer paper sheet and an ink film, so that the ink is transferred from the ink film to the transfer paper sheet as heat is applied to the transfer paper sheet by the thermal head. The film is supplied by a supply roll and is taken-up by a take-up roll. The thermal head is swingable between a position where it contracts the platen and a position away from the platen. When the thermal head is in the position away from the platen, the distance therebetween is greater than the maximum diameter of the supply roll. A film drum can hold a plurality of films each being constituted by the supply roll and the take-up roll. Swing arms are provided for demounting the supply roll of a selected film from the film drum and for bringing the same to a position away from the film drum, and also for returning the same from this position to the film drum. During the movement of the supply roll between the position in the film drum and the position away from this position, the thermal head is moved away from the platen so as not to hinder the movement of the supply roll.

Thermal transfer printer

A permanent magnet electric machine such as, for example, a motor or generator, including a permanent magnet field member, an armature having salient magnetic poles and armature windings. A greatest common division of the number of magnetic poles of the field member and the salient magnetic poles having the armature windings differs from the number of magnetic poles. A group of grooves is formed between the salient magnetic poles having an interval of 2/3M.pi., with M being an integer which is not a multiple of three. To reduce the occurrence of cogging torque, auxiliary grooves are provided on the surface of the salient poles at positions which are spaced apart from positions of the grooves by (.pi./3)K+(.pi./6), in terms of electrical angle, with K being an integer.

Permanent magnet electrical machine with reduced cogging

In a dynamoelectric machine having a stator assembly of coil windings and a core, a heat-dissipating, uninflammable, electro-insulative housing encapsulates the coil windings and the core. The housing is made of a cured molded article or material formed of a resin-filler composition which comprises a liquid unsaturated polyester resin, a finely divided calcium carbonate powder, an inorganic mineral particulate having a particle size larger than that of the calcium carbonate powder, a chopped glass fiber and an aluminum hydroxide powder, wherein the ratio by weight of the calcium carbonate to the mineral particulate is 0.3 to 4, the ratio of the weight of glass fiber to the total weight of the composition is 0.05 to 0.25, the ratio of the weight of the polyester resin to the total weight of the composition is 0.1 to 0.4, the weight ratio of the calcium carbonate powder, the mineral particulate and the glass fiber to the total weight of the composition is 0.15 to 0.80, and the weight ratio of the aluminum hydroxide powder to the total weight of the composition is 0.1 to 0.6.

Uninflammable dynamoelectric machine having coil windings and core

A resin molded stator comprising a stator core and coils as major constituents at least parts of which are molded into one piece by a molding material, said molding material comprising (a) a low-shrink unsaturated polyester resin, (b) a filler having a particle size of 44 .mu. or less, and (c) a fibrous material having a length of 3 mm or less, in proportions of 15 to 40% by weight of the component (a) and 60 to 85% by weight of a total of the components (b) and (c), and a weight ratio of the component (b) to the component (c) being 3/1 to 30/1, is excellent in crack resistance, moisture resistance and insulating properties.
