An ultrasonic sensor device includes a plurality of pixels each including an ultrasonic transducer, and a control circuit configured to control the plurality of pixels. Each of the plurality of pixels is configured to hold a signal received by the ultrasonic transducer therein and send the signal to the control circuit as a response signal. The control circuit is configured to acquire an excitation response signal, which is a response signal sent from a pixel after the ultrasonic transducer therein is excited, acquire a non-excitation response signal, which is a response signal sent from a pixel when the ultrasonic transducer therein is not excited, and correct the excitation response signal based on the non-excitation response signal.

Display apparatus and manufacturing method of the same

An object to be marked is prepared. A laser beam of a wavelength that is transmitted by the material from which this object to be marked is formed is focused on the inner portion of said object to be marked, using an f&thgr; lens. A mark is formed in the region of the object to be marked where the laser beam is focused. The mark is positioned inside the object to be marked and does not extend to the surface thereof. Therefore, generation of dirt caused by marking, rupturing of the object to be marked, and the like, can be prevented.

Method for making marks in a transparent material by using a laser

A method for observing marks includes the steps of irradiating illumination light onto a transparent substrate from one end surface thereof, the transparent substrate bearing marks constituted by cracks formed in the inner portion thereof, and observing the light scattered by the marks on one side of the transparent substrate. In the step of observing the light scattered by the marks, a black plate-shaped material or a black body is placed on the other side of the transparent substrate so that the black plate-shaped material or the black body covers a field of view of a light receiver.

A laser beam is radiated from a laser source. The laser beam radiated from the laser source is converged at a converging point inside of a work member to form cracks at the converging point and in its nearby area, by making a cross section of the laser beam at the converging point have a shape long in a first direction perpendicular to an optical axis of the laser beam. Markers easy to increase contrast can be formed in the work member.
