A stand for a thin display includes a vertical position adjustment mechanism; and a switchover mechanism for switching over between a vertical orientation and a horizontal orientation of a thin display. When the switchover mechanism has rotated the thin display, the vertical position adjustment mechanism has different movement ranges between the vertical orientation and the horizontal orientation. Accordingly, when the thin display is in a vertical orientation, the lower end of the thin display does not hit against a base, which provides a easy and reliable operation even in a vertical orientation or in a horizontal orientation.

Disclosed is a display holding device which retains one or more displays in such a way that they move laterally and smoothly. The display holding device, which is installed between at least one display and a supporting body supporting the display, includes (1) a guide mechanism secured to the supporting body, and (2) at least one holding mechanism for transmitting, to the guide mechanism, a moment due to weight of the display, and being secured to the display. In addition, the guide mechanism includes (a) a guide portion spanning laterally, and (b) a stopper placed along the guide portion. The holding mechanism includes (c) a slider mating with the guide portion in a slidable manner, and (d) a contact portion facing the stopper. The stopper blocks the contact portion from being displaced in the direction of the moment, and allows it to be displaced in the opposite direction.

There is disclosed an NMR measurement method and NMR apparatus in which the temperature of the NMR detection coil or the RF irradiation coil hardly varies if pulsed RF power is applied to the coil during NMR measurements. The apparatus includes the detection coil or the RF irradiation coil, a first RF power application means for applying RF power of a frequency necessary for measurement of NMR signals, a second RF power application means for applying RF power of a frequency not affecting the measurement of NMR signals, and a control means for controlling the two power application means such that the sum of the RF power applied to the coil from the first application means and the RF power applied to the coil from the second application means is kept almost constant.
