A sensor insertion device comprises a main body, needle slider, disposal slider, spring, puncture knob, and opening mechanism (window member and handle). The needle slider grips a needle and a sensor on a first end side, and is slidable inside the main body. The disposal slider is slidable inside the main body. The puncture knob has an insertion hole into which the rear end portion of the needle slider can be inserted. The opening mechanism puts the insertion hole into a closed state when the needle slider is being slid in the sensor insertion direction, and, puts the insertion hole in an open state in which the second end side of the needle slider has been inserted into the insertion hole by opening up the contact portion between the puncture knob and the second end side of the needle slider when the puncture operation is complete.

Sensor insertion device and biosensor

Blood test device

A blood test apparatus having a simple constitution whereby stable measurement can be conducted by surely sampling the blood in an amount being small but sufficient for the test without placing too much burden on a patient. When a first skin contact sensor of this apparatus detects the skin, driving of a negative pressure unit is initiated. Thus, the skin rises and comes into contact with a second skin contact sensor. After piercing into the skin, the negative pressure supply is once ceased. Next, the negative pressure is applied again for a definite period of time. Thus, the opening in the skin is broadened, which facilitates the flow out of the blood.

A blood test device using a laser as a puncture member. In the device, a laser beam emitted from a laser emitting device is branched into laser beam paths by splitters and mirrors and pierces skin by applying the split beams to the same position on the skin. Since the skin is pierced by a laser beam with a low output, pain to the person can be reduced.

A blood sensor comprises a substrate, a spacer attached to the top of the substrate, a cover attached to the top of the spacer. A blood reservoir defined by a substrate hole formed in the substrate. A part of a spacer hole in the spacer and connected to the substrate hole, and a cover hole formed in the cover is connected to the spacer hole. A supply passage is defined by another part of the spacer hole that communicates with the blood reservoir portion, and detection electrodes are formed in the supply passage. The cover projects from the supply passage toward the inside of the blood reservoir portion farther than the substrate and the spacer.
