A high-pressure fuel supply pump including a pump body in which a pressurizing chamber is formed, and a cylinder inserted into a hole formed in the pump body and formed in a cylindrical shape, the high-pressure fuel supply pump including: a protrusion disposed at an end portion of the pump body opposite to the pressurizing chamber, formed from an outer peripheral side to an inner peripheral side with respect to an inner peripheral surface opposite to an outer peripheral surface of the cylinder, and protruding toward the cylinder, wherein the protrusion is formed so as to protrude to a side opposite to the pressurizing chamber with respect to a flat portion of the end portion of the pump body, and the protrusion is formed so as to support the cylinder from a side opposite to the pressurizing chamber.

A fuel injection valve with reduced adhesion of deposits to a fuel injecting portion and superior in durability is provided. Also provided is a method for machining multi-orifice type fuel injecting portions easily, less expensively, in good surface roughness, in high productivity, and with few variations in shape, accuracy and surface roughness, using inexpensive equipment. The surface roughness of fuel injecting portions comprising orifices and apertures is made Rz 2 &#x3bc;m or less. Apertures are formed by press working so as to each have a plastic-worked surface of Rz 0.2 &#x3bc;m or less in surface roughness and then orifices are formed in the bottoms of the apertures so as to have a plastic-worked surface of Rz 0.2 &#x3bc;m or less in surface roughness. Further, when abrasion resistance of the nozzle is required, the fuel injecting portions are finished to a surface roughness of Rz 2 &#x3bc;m by quenching.

A fuel injection valve comprises a convex portion prominently formed on an outer end surface of a nozzle body, stepped recesses each of which has plural steps formed by press forming on the convex portion, and multi orifices as fuel nozzle holes formed by press forming so that an outlet of each of the orifices is located at a bottom face of each of the stepped recesses. An injection valve has a nozzle body, a valve needle positioned in the nozzle body, an actuator for actuating the valve needle, and an orifice plate fixed at an end of the nozzle body. The orifice plate is provided with a projection having a convex-curved surface on an orifice outlet side of the orifice plate. When an electromagnetic coil receives an electric supply, a stationary core, a yoke, and a movable core form a magnetic circuit. The movable core is attracted to a side of the stationary core against the force provided by a return spring member. A fuel passage for injection of fuel is then opened. Axial direction stepwise differences are formed on the movable core. One end face of the stationary core opposes the stepwise difference through a first gap. A projection portion of the yoke is provided toward an inner side of the yoke. This projection portion opposes a position of a side to provide an axial direction magnetic attraction through a second gap. By the provision of the first and second gaps, plural axial direction magnetic attraction gaps are formed and become a part of the magnetic circuit. By increasing a magnetic attraction efficiency of the movable core, an improvement in performance of a fuel injector and a fuel injector having a compact size and a light weight structure can be attained.

A method of producing a cylindrical nozzle incorporated in a fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine including the steps of: setting a cylindrical nozzle blank on a second die so that a lower bottom face of the cylindrical nozzle blank rests on the second die; pressing a punch into the cylindrical nozzle blank while being guided along the inner wall face of the cylindrical nozzle blank; pressing the punch onto a bottom of the cylindrical nozzle blank to induce plastic flow, thereby transfer forming a seat portion at a center on the upper bottom face of the cylindrical nozzle blank; removing a projection formed on the lower bottom face of the cylindrical nozzle blank due to the plastic flow; boring a nozzle injection hole at the center of the transfer formed seat portion of the projection removed cylindrical nozzle blank; and hardening the bored cylindrical nozzle blank.

An inner cylindrical component is disposed on a bottom portion of an outer cylindrical component with a clearance which is formed between an outer diameter portion of the inner component and an inner diameter portion of the outer component. A guiding pin for positioning is inserted concentrically through the inner component and a tip end portion of the guiding pin engages with the bottom portion of the outer component. An outer peripheral portion of the positioned inner component is locally and vertically pressure-pressed. A portion of the inner component is extended in an outer diameter direction according to the pressure-pressing plastic deformation. The extended member of the inner component is joined together with the inner diameter portion of the outer component. The extended member of the inner component and the outer component are mutually combined together. After the pressing operation the guiding pin is withdrawn.

A compressor comprises a plurality of pistons each received in one of through holes formed in a cylinder block fixedly mounted on a rotational shaft which is journaled by a stationary part, and a wobble plate arranged in such a manner as to oppose and be inclined with respect to an end surface of the cylinder block. The wobble plate is supported on the rotational shaft for wobbling movement and rotatably holds one ends of the pistons. There are provided a pair of driving pins having one end portions secured to the cylinder block and extending in parallel with the rotational shaft, and the other ends slidably engaging the wobble plate through spherical bearings. The wobble plate, the driving pins and the spherical bearings constitute in cooperation a piston driving mechanism portion.

A variable displacement compressor comprises a plurality of pistons revived in a plurality of through-holes formed in a cylinder block arranged in a fixed relationship with a rotary shaft journaled by a stationary part, and a piston drive mechanism including a wobble plate supported on the rotary shaft for wobbling movement. The wobble plate is arranged in opposition to the cylinder block and rotatably holding one ends the pistons. The piston drive mechanism further includes a pair of drive pins having one end portion secured to the cylinder block and extending in parallel with the rotary shaft and the other end portion slidably engaging the wobble plate through spherical bearings, a swash plate having a surface making a sliding contact with a back surface of the wobble plate and supported at one part thereof for an inclination movement in an axial direction of the rotary shaft, and a piston mechanism operatively connected to the swash plate to vary an inclination angle of the latter to thereby vary an inclination angle of the wobble plate without causing rotation of the swash plate.
