A solid-state battery that includes a battery element body including a positive electrode layer and a negative electrode layer stacked with respect to each other with a solid electrolyte layer interposed therebetween; and an exterior material covering a surface of the battery element body, wherein the exterior material is a sintered body containing a glassy material and at least two crystalline materials, and the glassy material and the at least two crystalline materials contain at least one common element.

A solid-state battery including a battery element that includes one or more battery constitutional units, each battery constitutional unit including a positive electrode layer and a negative electrode layer facing each other and a solid electrolyte layer arranged between the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer; a first protective layer covering an upper surface of the battery element; and a second protective layer covering a lower surface of the battery element, wherein the first and second protective layers include an insulating substance other than resin.

A solid-state battery including a solid-state battery laminate that includes at least one battery constituent unit including a positive electrode layer, a negative electrode layer, and a solid electrolyte layer interposed between the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer along a lamination direction, and defining: an overlapping part in which the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer overlap each other in the lamination direction, and a non-overlapping part in which the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer do not overlap each other in the lamination direction. At least one main surface having a normal in the lamination direction has a recess overlapping the overlapping part and defines a step between the overlapping part and the non-overlapping part or in the non-overlapping part.

A nonpolar all-solid-state battery that includes a first electrode; a second electrode; and a solid electrolyte layer the first electrode and the second electrode. Each of the first electrode and the second electrode includes a first active material and at least one second active material. The first active material functions as both a positive electrode active material and a negative electrode active material. The first active material has a larger specific capacity when functioning as the positive electrode active material than when functioning as the negative electrode active material. In each of the first electrode and the second electrode, a ratio of the first active material to a total amount of the first and second active materials is more than 50% by mass and less than 100% by mass. A mass of each of the first and second active materials is equal between the first electrode and the second electrode.
