An inner rack structure for a saddle-ride type vehicle which can easily form an inner rack with a distinctive outward appearance. An inner rack opening that opens upwardly is provided in an upper cover, and an inner rack body portion formed to bulge in a forward direction is provided in the upper portion of a lower cover. The inner rack opening is covered from below and the front by the inner rack body portion, and the inner rack body portion is covered from a rear direction by a lower-side rear wall portion that extends downwardly from the inner rack opening of the upper cover, thereby forming an inner rack serving as a storage portion.

Inner rack structure for saddle-ride type vehicle

A motorcycle that can facilitate identification of and taking in and out of an article stored below a rear seat includes a storage box that is mounted to a body frame. The front portion of the storage box is covered by a front seat. The rear portion of the storage box is covered by the rear seat and the rear seat is surrounded by the rear spoiler. The rear spoiler has an opening portion that is almost-rectangular as viewed from above. When the rear seat is removed, an article can be put in and taken out from the storage box through the opening portion. A first seal member is attached to the bottom plate of the rear seat, and is pressed against the circumferential edge portion of the opening portion to thereby seal between the rear seat and the rear spoiler.

A motorcycle with a rear spoiler and a storage box. A rear spoiler is provided with a through hole adapted to directly apply the load of a rear seat to the rear seat support portion. A portion of the storage box is allowed to face the through-hole, forming the rear seat support portion. The bottom plate of the rear seat is abutted against the rear seat support portion to support the load of the rear seat. A labyrinth structure seals between the storage box and the rear spoiler. The first seal member attached to the rear seat seals between the rear spoiler and the rear seat.

To enhance a degree of freedom in the shape and the design of a swing arm without being influenced by the variation of a part for supporting an exhaust muffler on the side of the swing arm and a part for coupling a rear cushion unit to the side of the swing arm in a compact vehicle, a cushion bracket coupled to a lower end of the rear cushion unit and a muffler bracket that supports the exhaust muffler are provided as separate elements from the swing arm and are attached to the swing arm.

A motorcycle includes a body frame having at least a pair of right and left or front and rear frame members with a storage box that is open upward between the pairing frame members. A riding seat covers the opening end of the storage box from above. The storage box includes a box main body arranged between the pair of frame members with a box constituent member that is detachably mounted below the box main body so as to form an electronic component storage chamber in cooperation with the box main body that composes a part of the wall portion of the storage box. The box constituent member is overlapped with at least a part of the frame members of a pair of frame members viewed in a plane with the box constituent member mounted to the box main body. The box constituent member bulges from the box main body.

Storage box structure in motorcycle and method of mounting storage box

The present invention relates to a luggage storage device for a motorcycle. In an embodiment, the invention can allow the capacity of a storage box to be large enough to accommodate long goods therein. In an embodiment, the invention includes a storage box having a front helmet storage portion and a rear helmet storage portion. The front helmet storage portion is disposed under a front seat. The rear helmet storage portion is disposed under a rear seat, which together with the front seat, constitutes a tandem type riding seat. The storage box is disposed under the riding seat so as to extend from under a front end of the riding seat up to near an upper portion of a rear cushion that suspends a rear wheel from a rear portion of a vehicle body frame.

A remote control apparatus for a light vehicle having an engine, a movably mounted saddle-type seat, and a storage box positioned below the seat, the remote control apparatus including a portable transmitter and a receiver, wherein the portable transmitter is provided to be carried by a user remotely from the vehicle, and is operable to send signals to the receiver. The receiver is disposed in one of the storage box and the seat so as to be protected from adverse environmental conditions, and receives the signals from the portable transmitter. When a signal received by said receiver is a predetermined ID signal, the remote control system operates to enable at least starting of the engine. Thus it is unnecessary to cover the receiver with a cover member made of a synthetic resin material as has conventionally been done, and accordingly the conventional necessity for re-adjustment of the receiver having the cover member applied thereto is eliminated, while still assuring reliable, water-proof performance of the receiver.

A seat attachment structure for a vehicle having a seat hinge attached at one end of a seat, a first seat hook attached at the other end of the seat, a second seat hook attached substantially at the center of the seat, and a main locking mechanism and a sub-locking mechanism connected by a second cable. When locking the main locking mechanism, the sub-locking mechanism may also be brought into the locked state in conjunction therewith, and thus the seat can be locked easily and reliably. In addition, by providing a seat hook for the main locking mechanism at the other end of the seat, the seat hook for the main locking mechanism may be positioned at the farthest point form the hinge attached at one end of the seat. Therefore, when locking the main locking mechanism by pressing the end of the seat above the main locking mechanism downward by hand, a downward pressing force required to be exerted on the seat for generating a moment about the hinge may be reduced.

A pair of arms extend from the lid for the oil filler port, and these arms are rotatably mounted on the vehicle body cover via the hinges. The hinge for supporting one of the arms is provided with a torsion spring for urging the lid in the opening direction, and the hinge for supporting the other arm is provided with a rotary damper for damping a speed of rotation of the lid. Since the hinged lid for a vehicle rotates smoothly in natural motion, which gives an upscale image, a hinged lid for a vehicle providing, for example, a feeling of operation suitable for the large scooter may be realized.

In view of a possibility that a conventional structure which mounts a pressure-sensitive riding detection sensor on a seat bottom plate and mounts a seat cushion on the riding detection sensor lowers the sensitivity of the riding detection sensor, the present invention arranges the riding detection sensor such that the riding detection sensor can have favorable sensitivity. A lower seat cushion is arranged on a seat bottom plate of a seat, and a seat switch is supported on the lower seat cushion. A seat cushion body which is made thin by the thickness of the lower seat cushion is mounted on the seat switch, and a seat skin covers an upper surface of the seat cushion body.

Two front and rear helmets are to be contained in a container box without increasing the height of a seat. In a two-wheeled motor vehicle, a container box extending in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle body is disposed above a rear wheel, and a seat is disposed above the container box. A bottom plate of the container box is formed in an approximately inverse-V shape when viewed from the side. The container box includes a forward downwardly slanting face and a rearward downwardly slanting face. Two helmets Hf and Hr can be received in front and rear positions within the container box, by placing them on the forward downwardly slanting face and a rearward downwardly slanting, respectively.

The rear combination lamp is set closer to the storage box by providing left and right pairs of bulbs, and bulbs forming left and right access openings for performing maintenance of the bulbs on the lower box, and closing the access openings with lids respectively. Since maintenance work of the bulbs can easily be made from the inside of the storage box and the rear combination lamp may be set closer to the storage box, the rear portion of the vehicle may be formed compact in configuration even when a large rear combination lamp is disposed rearward of a large storage box. Therefore, the width or the entire length of the rear portion of the vehicle body is not increased, and thus the appearance and operability of the vehicle may be improved.
