A rotary connector includes a fixed housing having an outer cylindrical section, a movable housing, having an inner cylindrical section, and rotatably connected to the fixed housing, a main cable accommodated inside an annular space formed between the outer cylindrical section and the inner cylindrical section, a sub cable having one end connected to one end of the main cable and the other end connected to an external terminal, and a lead block. The lead block has a first block, to which the one end of the main cable and the one end of the sub cable are fixed, and a second block, which is fixed at an arrangement angle crossing an angle at which the first block is arranged, and to which the other end of the sub cable and the external terminal are fixed.

Rotary connector and method for assembling same

A rotor-side lead block integrally holds a plurality of external connection terminals electrically and directly connected to a connection land of a first sub FPC. The first sub FPC is housed and fixed in the rotor-side connector portion. The external connection terminals and the connection land of the first sub FPC are connected to each other via solder. The first holding member holds the connection land of the first sub FPC between the rotor-side lead block and the first holding member.

An information reproduction apparatus uses a block storer to store blocks read by a reproduction head tip, and uses an error detector to detect errors in the blocks. The information reproduction apparatus also uses an information corrector to perform information correction, and a multiblock simultaneous reproducer to reduce block restoration time. The information reproduction apparatus uses an output timing adjuster to output information units at a predetermined cycle and in a predetermined order, whereby original information is restored.

Information reproduction apparatus

A recording and playback device utilizing magnetic tape, such as a tape cassette, as a recording medium includes a magnetic head arranged to contact one side of the magnetic tape and a stabilizer arranged positioned directly opposed the magnetic head corresponding to the opposite side of the magnetic tape such that the magnetic tape move along a path interposed between the stabilizer and the magnetic head. The stabilizer includes a tape slider surface in contact with the side of the tape opposite the magnetic head contacting side. Further, the tape slider surface of the stabilizer may be formed with a recessed portion and tape surface scraper portions. According to this structure vibration of the magnetic tape in the vicinity of the magnetic head is greatly reduced such that a head servo for control of the magnetic head may accurately position the magnetic head even in devices utilizing a very small track pitch. Also read/write error, tape dropout, and the like, due to foreign matter entering the tape path, is reliably prevented. Further, space between the magnetic tape and the head is reduced and contact pressure between the head and the tape is maintained to optimize recording and or playback operations between the head and the magnetic tape.

A magnetic head device has a base portion 3, and a magnetic head element 4 protuberantly formed on a major surface of the base portion 3 and having a magnetic core with a magnetic gap g. A magnetic tape controller 5 surrounding the magnetic head element 4 and contacted with a magnetic tape 2 is provided on a major surface of the base portion 3. The magnetic tape controller has a magnetic tape attracting aperture 5A for exposing a magnetic tape slide surface 4B of the magnetic head element 4 to outside. The recording/reproducing characteristics for the magnetic tape are stabilized and data errors are prevented from occurring.

Magnetic head apparatus, tape cartridge and recording/reproducing

A recording/reproducing apparatus in which recording/reproducing characteristics for the magnetic tape may be stabilized and data errors may be reliably prevented form occurrence. The recording/reproducing apparatus has a magnetic head 81 in which a pair of magnetic core halves 83A, 83B of a magnetic material are abutted to each other via a gap material g to form a magnetic core. Magnetic tape guide units 82A, 82B are provided in the vicinity of the magnetic head 81. The magnetic tape guide units 82A, 82B are formed with magnetic tape suction openings 82b, 82b closed by a magnetic tape 88 adapted for having a sliding contact with the tape slide surface 82a. The magnetic tape suction openings 82b, 82b suck the magnetic tape 88 running on the tape slide surfaces 82a, 82a of the magnetic tape guide units 82A, 82B.

Recording/reproducing apparatus, magnetic head and tape cartridge

The rotation of a drive roll is detected using an rpm detection enabling element provided on the drive roll in order to control the driving device and reduce data error and loss of storage capacity. A cover member 3 and a base plate 4 make up a main cartridge member 2 within which a pair of tape reels 8, 9 are accommodated. A magnetic tape 7, placed around the tape reels 8 and 9, is driven by a drive roll 13 the outer periphery of which is partially exposed via an opening 21 formed in the front surface of the cover member 3. A capstan roll 46 of a driving device 40 is in surface contact with the driving roll 13 for transmitting its rotation to the drive roll. A rpm detection enabling element 34 is provided on the drive roll 13 and is detected through a detection window 35 provided in the cover member 3. The rotational speed difference between the drive roll and the capstan roll is used to detect slip therebetween.

A tape cartridge is comprised of first and second hubs which are aligned in tandem in a cartridge inserting direction to a recording and regenerating apparatus. A magnetic tape wound around the first and second hubs is driven by a drive belt through tape guides to be pressingly in contact with a magnetic head. The tape guides are arranged so that tape tension characteristics under a forward condition of the tape cartridge become the generally same as those under a reverse condition.

A tape cassette comprises a supply and a take-up reel on which tape is wound, a cassette casing for rotatably enclosing the reels therein, a plurality of tape guide pins, each being press-fitted through the inner wall of the casing, for defining a tape path for the tape travelling between the pair of reels. The press-fit section of each guide pin is formed in a predetermined taper in such a manner as to gradually decrease its outer diameter towards its end. The straight press-fit section of the guide pin is formed in such a manner as to include a predetermined geometry of chamfered circumference at its end. In a tape guide pin used in conjunction with a tape guide roller, grease having a predetermined viscosity coefficient is disposed between the associated pin and roller. An electrical insulating cover is provided for surrounding the exposed underside of the electrically conductive lower half of the casing.

An improved tape cartridge with increased tape capacity comprises a cartidge housing including a base plate which has two portions. The two portions connect with each other to form at least one corner portion. At least one guide is located adjacent the one corner portion such that the tape web is held out of interference with the one corner portion. A driven roller is positioned such that a straight line drawn through the driven roller passes between axes of rotation of two tape packs mounted on the base plate and extends perpendicular with a straight line extending through the axes of rotation of the tape packs.
