A surface treatment method for aluminum heat exchangers including (a) a step wherein a chemical conversion coating film is formed on the surface of an aluminum heat exchanger by subjecting the aluminum heat exchanger to chemical conversion using a chemical conversion agent; (b) a step wherein the aluminum heat exchanger, the surface of which has been provided with a chemical conversion coating film in step (a), is brought into contact with a hydrophilizing agent that contains a hydrophilic resin; and (c) a step wherein a hydrophilized coating film is formed on the surface of the aluminum heat exchanger by baking the aluminum heat exchanger, which has been subjected to a contact treatment in step (b). The chemical conversion agent used in step (a) contains zirconium and/or titanium in an amount of 5-5,000 ppm by mass in total, vanadium in an amount of 10-1,000 ppm by mass and a metal stabilizer in an amount of 5-5,000 ppm by mass. In addition, the chemical conversion agent used in step (a) has a pH of 2-6.

Surface treatment method for aluminum heat exchangers

Provided is an aluminum or aluminum alloy material having a surface treatment coating film on a surface of a substrate formed by an aluminum or aluminum alloy. The aluminum or aluminum alloy material has: a substrate formed by an aluminum or aluminum alloy; and a first protective layer and a second protective layer in the order on a surface of the substrate, wherein the first protective layer is a conversion coating film including vanadium and at least one or more types of metals selected from titanium, zirconium, and hafnium, the second protective layer is an organic coating film having a composition that includes (1) a chitosan derivative and a solubilizing agent, (2) a modified polyvinyl alcohol formed by graft polymerization of a hydrophilic polymer to a side chain of polyvinyl alcohol, and (3) a water-soluble crosslinking agent.

There is disclosed a rust prevention and hydrophilization treatment method for a flux-brazed aluminum-made heat exchanger which comprises subjecting the same to a rust prevention treatment by the use of a zirconium base compound and/or a titanium base compound, and thereafter subjecting the same to a hydrophilization treatment by means of a hydrophilization treatment agent composition containing the under-mentioned components: The above simplified method dispenses with a flux removal step without causing wastewater treatment problems, and thus assures favorable rust prevention and deodorization effects.

A method of surface treating an aluminum alloy base body of an heat exchanger which method enables an etching procedure to be carried out uniformly and quickly and a corrosion-resistant chemical conversion coating to be formed, is effected by pretreating the Al heat exchanger base body with an aqueous pre-treating liquid having a pH of 9.0 or less, etching the pretreated base body with an aqueous alkaline solution having a pH of 9.0 or more, and then subjecting the etched base body to a chemical conversion treatment or a hydrophilicity-enhancing treatment.

On the surface of a heat exchanging portion in a heat exchanger, a film made of a polyaniline is formed. When the heat exchanger operates, condensed water is adhered on the surface of the heat exchanger, and contacts the film made of the polyaniline. Accordingly, oxygen dissolved in the condensed water becomes active oxygen by the polyaniline, and organic substances contained in the condensed water is decomposed. Thus, an amount of organic substances attached to a surface of the heat exchanger can be reduced in low cost without equipment extension.
